Mosley is shot and that's the only reason ginger kid got the fight. Terrible match when you've git guys like kirkland out there who would make for exciting fights.
I dont 'like' the fight because Mosley is a legend and doesnt deserve to get used to pad out some up-and-comings record. But i'll still watch the fight with intrigue. Said before though, this is the last fight Alvarez will get a pass for now, anyone after this simply HAS to be a live opponent.
I have very mixed feelings about this fight. One the one hand its a decent fight with Alvarez facing someone who is much better than some of the others they could of brought in. Its also the main support to Mayweather which is a great fight to have as an undercard. This fight could have quite easily have been on a show on its own. Not that that would have been right though, its not that good. But as an undercard, very good. Alvarez is a world champion but he is still a prospect and although i hate calling a champ a prospect, this is a good learning fight against an experienced HOF fighter. Interesting to see how he does. May and Oac easily outpointed him so we can see how he compares at this point. Maybe Mosley is shot now but well have to see. Its his chance to get back in the mix and hes got so much experience and he may be able to use that. In all fairness though i just think that he wants another pay check and GB are using him as fodder for their new pet project. Im a big Alvarez fan and I think he wins fairly comfortable and maybe even gets a late stoppage in a quite entertaining fight.
Mosley is over the hill.Even Delvin Rodriguez, based on his recent win deserves to be in this mix.Kirkland would have been best, though. GBP are whores and soaking the public with Mosley and now Winky Wright.:dead
The feelings on Alvarez/Mosley are somewhat softer as opposed to the one's on Khan/Mosley. What a surprise, eh...
I don't see how this can be an entertaining fight. Mosley just doesnt throw enough anymore and Canelo himself is a very patient boxer. Shane ain't goimg to be forcing him to engage for ****. Plus what"s the size difference going to be like?
Fights like this are part and parcel of boxing. It's really just to see just how good Alvarez is and build him. I'm scunnered it's not Delvin but I think this is ok for an undercard and a shot to **** Mosley is still better than Canelo's previous opponents. Unlike when he fought Pac or PBF, the old man will have the handspeed advantage this time. Alvarez isn't high workrate and Mosley can pick his spots and rack up points IF he comes to win. If Mosley decides stink up the place, Alvarez is a big lump and hopefully he can overpower Mosley and put him and us watching out of our misery by stopping him. I have no problem with that. I don't subscribe that guys who used to be special shouldn't be used as stepping stones. He learned his craft fighting past prime and overmatched fighters and you can bet Shane is getting paid a lot more than they were. No one is forcing him to take this fight and he knows the risks (and the $$$).
It's about as pointless a fight as you can make for Canelo. I've seen four round level journeymen earning a few hundred quid try more than he did against Pacquiao. He's a year older, a year inactive..... :-(
