I don't think he really flowed his combos tonight all that well. Plant is fairly slick but also was holding alot ( which I understand ) but it really killed their exchanges. I think at times he looked a bit clumsy and off balance but credit to Plant . In the end he took what he could and won against a difficult opponent / style. I believe win or lose he will show much more against Canelo .

Yeah his gastank is disappointing. Watching the fight Benavidez never actually broke him down, he just followed Plant around the ring until Plant slowed down before beating up him

I think that the reason of his lack of gas tank is not due to a natural lack. for a fighter that doesn't possess great power he simply doesn't have a complete skillset to circumvent that factor (which I do not mean that he isn't a skilled fighter). If I compare him to Haney, Stevenson or fighters like that, they can always not just avoid punch and counter with great timing, but also put their opponent constantly out of balance, and that allow they to put themselves in the position where they can not spend lot of energy to just escape from the ropes, which requires a lot of energy. they stay always compose and in control of the ring, they can also make feel their physical presence, impose themselves. they always put themselves in the favorite position to manage their energy. but their are just phenomenal fighter, elite fighters, which I don't think that is the case for Plant.

I get what you're saying. If You placed a 168-pound version of Ennis, Shakur, Keyshawn, Crawford, or Haney in the ring with Benavidez, he probably wouldn't see the final bell. Benavidez is nothing more than a bigger Jarret Hurd who will get exposed sooner than later.

Do you want him to die? Beterbiev is a powerful, strong man. Benavidez is a come forward pressure fighter. Yea, that is a beatdown for Benavidez.

Benavidez is a pure fighter. He doesn't need elite boxing skills. He's a terminator who can hit you from long range or short range. In fact, he is a nasty inside fighter. He's got really good handspeed as well and when he throws combinations, it's blazing fast.

The only thing Plant had going was his cuddling in the first 6 rounds that prevented Benavidez from using his full arsenal. Once Benavidez adjust and started landing, Plant fell apart.

Charlo didn't even look good in his first outing at 160. He'd get his **** pushed in by Benavidez. It would be brutal.

Come on; the guys nickname is the Mexican Monster, and he is routinely referred to as "the most avoided man in boxing".
Canelo is slipping but he still has enough to beat DB. If he couldn't KO Plant (yes I know about the holding) then he isn't going to
KO Canelo. No way. Moving up to 175 is also dangerous; many much bigger hitter there than he is. Bivol would vaporize him.
Even Smith Jr would be a favorite. Beterviev...forgettaboutit

Still going to keep your avatar? Change it to Jordan Plant; way more appealing.

yeah but not necessarily like Hurd. I think Benavidez is definitely much more dangerous and a bit more technical. of course he has some great limits, but I wouldn't be surprise if he perform much better when it comes to the most important fight of his career. I think that every fighter show more when they know that there is a lot on the table in term of legacy. that's the difference between a champions and very good fighter. we don't know yet if Benavidez belong to the very best. it could be.
