Ruiz, Rivas and Hunter would all be up for a fight with Tyson Fury. They're all in the WBC rankings. They're all among the world's best.

The heart wants what it wants. We already know that Wilder Fury comes down to Wilder trying to land a bomb, after 19 rounds close but no cigar. You don't want to see more, I want one more bombzquad for the road, it is what it is.

I don't want to see Fury with a retread unless one of them makes a move and shows they're still winning big fights (Povetkin, for instance, if he's able to beat Whyte again). I prefer Ajagba because I think Ajagba would benefit from seeing how much more growth is required to be at the top level. I fear he's on the way to underachieving.

I just wish these rivalry fights could start earlier in the career. Have a bout with your natural rival before your 20th fight, again around fight 30, and the last one at the end of your career. The division would be better because no one's getting paired off for a couple years at a time, and the fights would be better because there would be changes and development between them.

It would be something if he faces Ruiz and Ruiz pulls the upset again. :)

I like Rivas but I can't see anything that makes him better than Kabayel.

I hope Rivas gets the fight just to shut up some of this criticism directed at Fury over Kabayel.
Unfortunately, Rivas last fought in July 2019 and lost that one to Whyte, so his name will likely look like absolute **** on Fury's resume when the dust settles.
And then a few years down the line we might hear "Fury ducked Kabayel", "Rivas was the easiest option" .....

If a British fighter had Kabayel's record, 20-0 with an easy win over Chisora, 4 wins in European title fights, we'd be hearing nothing but praise and hype for him.

Americans like Breazeale and Martin became 'names' (and 'mandatory challenger' and IBF champ in Martin's case) , 'contenders', with similar or less credentials than Kabayel.

I guess the bar is set higher for Germans, 'Euro' fighters.

And, no, I'm not saying Kabayel is good, or that Fury-Kabayel is a good fight ....
... but it's no worse than Fury-Rivas, and it's far better than Fury-Martin or Fury-Ajagba.

Nothing wrong with Fury vs Kabayel.

Kabayel is a prime, undefeated boxer. He's the type of opponent that Deontay Wilder avoided.

I just hope it isn't Lucas Browne, Fury would disgrace himself to fight this faded age 41 boxer. The current version of Browne is the type of opponent Wilder fought.

Kabayel is known to be a tough game guy who has plenty of skill to last the rounds.

Kabayel is the right guy to show us whether Fury has developed his power punching & finishing ability.

Fury will never be a natural pure puncher...but he still has his finishing to work on. If he can blow through Kabayel I'd be impressed.

Kabayel isn't a skinny-legged super noodle. You have to break him down proper.

2 years ago this would have been a typical 12 round late retire on stool type fight for Fury....lets see what it is now.

Fury's hooks & uppercuts are still arm punches. 270 pound arm punches but he could put more behind them especially at close range.

I want to see Fury position himself at close range against a hurt opponent and throw a mean ass hook to take their head off, he's never been that kind of fighter though.

He'll come in behind a straight punch then attack the body and rough you up.

Bumping this thread. I was the only guy on the planet advocating for Kabayel at the time over Wilder. I think history has born me out. Kabayel's recent wins over Makhmudov and Sanchez added to his win over Chisora pretty much equal Wilder's entire career.

Hell, some of the quality journeymen that Kabayel has beaten, like Gbenga Olukun, could have been Wilder title defenses.
