Vargas is younger than Joe and hes shot to pieces.

three years when youre at your mid to late thirties is a lot.

let roy fight in england and he would be 1000-0 then fight two hall of famers in there 40's, one he almost loss to and the other not even as have as good as he use to be.hes roy in the taver 3 fight.

big difference in the punches he throws and the way he fights of the ropes against a bigger and stronger man then joe in tarver.jones was gun shy and did not even try to fight back.

Boxers devlop at different times. Calzaghe although still unbeaten is past his peak by a few years imo, but a 37 yr old Calzaghe is still better than everyone from 160 to 175.

Calzaghe is utterly shot, I've been watching him his entire career and this is a shadow of what he used to be. Most people who post at this website have not seen the true Calzaghe.

    Understand the following :

Though Joe is 36 and Jones 39 ..Roy has about an extra 5 yrs in boxing age over Joe due to who he fought and the up and down in weight ..If Jones had only moved from 168 to 175 and stayed there he might have had another couple of fights in him ..I beleive that wjat hindered Jones in the tail end of his career was lack of true fundimentals ..This is why Hopkins can still do what he does past 40 ..his technique does not rely on natural abilities .

he no longer has the finishing skills he used to his power has gone his footwork is not as good but speed is crap compared to how it was and his chin is on the decline.

JC is well past his best but RJJ is completly shot.

prime 4 prime it is a very very good fight but back then JC did not have the skill to change his style as much that is something that he has perfected since leaaving his physical prime he has adapted.

but he is still the best at 168-175

Personally I dont think Jones should have come back to 175 so quickly if at all, that was definately what finished his prime off. In reality Tarver wasnt even worth coming down for, he should have trid to et a heavyweight defence and then droppedto the 200lb limit, he could still be a world title holder today if he did that imo...
