Takedowns being worth a billion points is still a thing I guess.

Take downs with nothing afterward should be scored as a punch and nothing more. Nunes didn't do crap after the take down. Shevchenko fought and landed on her back.

Brief moments of ground control shouldn't outweigh 4:00 mins of getting outstriked but what do I know.

nunes was complaining in some interview the other day how the UFC does not promote her because of her loos. Seems like looked out for her tonight though.

In tonight's case it wasn't even ground and pound. Shevchenko landed several punches and elbow while Nunes didn't next to nothing after the take down.

clear robbery. 3-2 at worst for svenchenko. sad, she out counterstruck her easy. In mma it is so easy to know when they are gonna rob someone. The announcers announce **** you dont see happening and never say a word when the other fighter lands. Even the corner of nunes knew she lost. Said she was playing her came and getting sucked in. Just another blackeye. Glad svenchencko called it for what it was though.

but what about 2-3-4 clear as day for senenchenko. Hard to beat a brazilian in mma in a close fight just as mexicans in boxing. all about the money.

Brazilians definitely get the benefit of doubt in MMA. They have a rabid faan base who support their fighters despite what Nunes was saying about her looks being a promotional detriment, her ethnic fan base proved far more valuable to the UFC than a misplaced Slavic girl living in Peru.

Yea, Shevchenko won that fight. I'll say it was 4-1 Shevchenko, but at the same time some of the rounds were close. I wont call it a robbery, i just disagree with the decision. Should be a immediate rematch. The only 'top'ranked on a winning streak is Pennington, but i feel like a fight vs Holm would be the obvious. Holm doesn't deserve a shot, but she might be the biggest draw in the division which is to her advantage. Nunes vs Shevchenko for a third time, Holm vs Pennington, winner gets a title shot.

But it might all change soon with the new 125lb weight division and ofc the 145lb division. UFC might recruit some new fighters, which they are about to with the new TUF season.
