Honestly at this point... Canelo needs to just take the challenge and decapitate this poser. He must be kicked out of our sport for good.

I had people at work asking if Spence and Crawford was actually a real fight or another gig fight.....

Floyd also needs to knock off the gig fights as well and shame on Fury for the farce he has coming up as well.

He’s very bad. Sergio Martinez is the success story you’re thinking of.

    I don't knock the hustle.

But I do have a problem with him taking a great sport for granted.

Jake: "I've only been boxing for 3 years"

185-190 lbs Jake's amateur debut was in August 2018, he's been boxing continuously for over 5 years with a team of highly paid professionals around him and had contested 34 pro rounds.

Boxing debut Nate is a career 155/170 lbs, semi-retired, notoriously featherfisted, 21-13 MMA one-time UFC LW contender who submitted more opponents than he beat by TKO and decision combined.

But credit to Jake for dropping Nate and showing reasonable stamina/intelligence over the 10 rounds.

All the MMA guys fought at a lot lighter weight and were old when he fought him, not the success story you are hyping it as.

    Askren - 170 - 36 years old
    Woodley - 170 - 39 years old
    Silva - 185 - 47 years old
    Diaz - 155 / 170 - 38 years old

    & he'll never beat Fury.

Canelo doesn't know a wrist lock from a wrist watch. he taps faster than James Toney. There is a reason Fury wants no part of Jon Jones after getting called out in mma and had to retract his tough guy attitude and rephrase himself.

There all near the same size. Nate would take them down and wrap them in knots. Nate could tap out a olympic wrestler who has zero knowledge in bjj. Submission grappling at nates level is very rare.

Don't know about the Olympic Wrestler- they are very fast and they know what they are doing on the ground. And usually they are incredibly strong.
Sure Nate has a good possibility of getting them but its not a guarantee.

I for one take my hat off to both these warriors. I don't know why people get on here and feel the need to be as toxic as possible about what they're seeing.

These guys gave it they're all in there, had the crowd roaring and were putting it on the line in front of the world.

It's not easy at all fighting someone with Nates style if you don't have a lot of experience with it, and given Jake's inexperience, not being a natural fighter and blowing so much energy early, he did OK. Not good, but at least respectable, imo.

Nate is an old and worn out 38 year old with brain damage, seeing him put it on Jake like that in his first ever boxing match was respectable to see. He ate quite a few big shots and never quit trying.

They gave a decent show while trying to win and gave the fans blood and guts in the process. Yes they looked sub par, one is youtuber actively learning boxing and the other is a faded 38 year old mma fighter, what'd you expect.

    Respect to them, imo.

    Quick notes

    * Jake is uncharacteristically stupid in wanting to fight Nate in mma. What is he thinking here. He has a good thing going and he wants to sink the ship by doing that? Why? Makes no sense.

    * I'd tune in to another Nate fight. Id tune in for Nate vs KSI, Silva, or even Logan if Logan would stop the WWE crap and get back to fighting.

    * Little doubt to me that if Nate was about 5 years younger he'd have won this fight. Just too old.

    * I know Jake's only been boxing for 3 years, but... he's crammed a ton of time honing his craft in those three years and has had all the resources to expedite his improvements, and while I'm going to cut him slack because anyone who has fought a style like Nates knows how difficult it can be to fight it, so I cut him slack there, I still can't get over how 'poor' Jake looks for all the training he's done. He's just not a natural fighter at all. Tonight makes me wonder if we really have seen his ceiling as a fighter, but have to remind myself that he's only been fighting for 3 years. But idk.... I was a little dissapointed with his form tonight and I ask myself if hes really going to get that much better from here, considering where his form is at now with all the time hes put into it.

    * However, not sure this will make sense but it's precisely because he's not a natural that I give him some credit for this overall performance, outside of his form. For a non natural fighter it can be a nightmare having a guy coming forward non stop soaking up all your punches while throwing back at you. That's hard on a lot of pro fighters let alone someone like Jake. So in that sense I actually do see it as a semi impressive performance.

    * I was sure Jake was going to gas when I saw the 3rd or 4th round. I'd say it's impressive that he was able to fight such a high paced fight against a high volume opponent and do so for 10 rounds without imploding.

Anyways, that was a fun fight.

I don't know who should be next for Jake. I'm not really intrigued by a Fury rematch. I actually enjoy the MMA opponents lol. I just don't know who would be left that would make sense at this stage.

Nate isn't Jon Jones or Randy Couture. Canelo isnt an old fat brain damaged James Toney.

Nates not gonna be crawling along the floor begging God he gets a single leg on Canelo.

He will be walking forward easy to hit and would be waking up on his back with a broken face.

"Jake is uncharacteristically stupid in wanting to fight Nate in mma. What is he thinking here."

He's already lost to Tommy Fury so he's got no 0 to protect and believes he can hustle an easy payday by getting MMA fans to watch him being submitted in that sport. I guess that's the cynical angle.

    "3 years experience"

Jake's been boxing for at least 5 years now, roughly the same amount of time Marciano had been boxing when he KO'd Louis. Wilder beat gold medallist Chakhkiev on 2.5.

"I was sure Jake was going to gas when I saw the 3rd or 4th round."

Indeed. Jake showed more fortitude and cardio than McTapper in the first Diaz fight.

I thought it was fun show.

Boxing sanctioning **** like this is disgraceful. Nate looks like he has neurological issues, talking slurred, no balance even when he's just walking around, and no previous pro boxing experience. Then they put him in against someone who's much younger and has shown that he has a punch all for the spectacle of it and money. He took 10 rounds of more punches and it wasn't a good fight even though he tried all he could.
