    it does help in absorbing punches, as it distributes the energy across what is basically a pad, but other than that it doesnt help in any way. occasionally using your extra weight to tire your opponent wont make up for the tax it places on your own body.

    It literally makes you punch harder, brother. So if you are doped up enough to haul your fat ass around the ring, there is no downside to a little extra fat. Think Fury, who has a great gas tank, better than most musclebound guys.
