Don't hate the player, Kirk. You would do the same given the opportunity.

It's the WBC who has to enforce the rules.

Golovkin swerved an Undefeated Derevyanchenko and the IBF did their job and stripped him.

He clearly was hoping they didn't. So why do you hold Canelo to different standards?

Explain why Benavidez moved up top 175 ro fight Canelo's teammate ONE WEEK before he could enforce his mandatory status at 168.

    He deserves a shot because....

    a) Hes the WBC (Canelos belt) interim champion.

    b) Its the fight most fans and boxing as a sport want to see the most, for both fighters. This cant be understated. Its important for fighters to fight who boxing wants them to, within reason. And this is well within reason.

    c) He is the clear number one contender in Canelos division.

    d) He is the longest rated top 10 fighter in Canelos division, by far.

    Really quite simple.

These all combine to be more worthy a cause to fight him than most fighters who get chosen to fight for a belt have going for them, and almost certainly make DB the obvious choice over whoever Canelo would choose other than him.

Which is exactly what makes it such a clear duck.

    To answer your question....

No, seems like a dumb move and Id have to hear from their perspective why they did that. But while seemingly dumb and inexplicable, it shouldnt matter. Hes the interim champion, the clear number one contender, the fight the worlds asking for, and one of Canelos highest possibe paydays.

He shouldnt have to be the mandatory at this stage for Canelo to make the fight.

But yes, bizarre move to say the least, from an outside perspective.

    Okkkk....

So why one week before WBC granted him his right to enforce his mandatory status he moves yo to LHW to fight a Eddy Reynoso fighter?

He could have forced Canelo to fight him in March, or could had have him stripped.

    Why didn't he??

    What lol.

Not holding Canelo to a different standard at all.

Stop assuming my views on things when you clearly have no clue.

And ohhhh, now its "dont hate the player hate the game"

    Lol... so pathetic.

Like I said, youre canelo fan, not a boxing fan.

It's all Al Haymon.. Benavidez has said multiple times that he will always listen to Haymon.

Now that Canelo is friendly with Haymon he will eventually fight and beat Benavidez, but it will happen when Haymon feels is the right time.

    I already answered your question.

And of course I dont know.

Like I said, it doesnt matter.

He shouldnt have to be the mandatory for Canelo to fight him.

Was Munguia Canelos mandatory? Lol. Funny how that works huh.

    Canelo be ducking.

I am a Canelo fan. He's one of the few boxers who have fought the best in their prime.

I definitely respect him more than Benavidez who hasn't fought anyone.

Canelo at this point has accomplished more than Benavidez and Munguia, hell, even more than Golovkin, so he can choose who he fights. Canelo has already given us more than any other fighter since De La Hoya, Mayweather, and Pacquiao.

If you're concerned about the SMW WBC title then your frustration should be with the WBC not with Canelo.

Youve put Canelo above the sport. Thats what seperates you from actual boxing fans. You advocate for and defend Canelo disrespecting the sport by ducking his number one contender, and the fight the world wants to see, which degrades boxing.

A boxing fan can be a fan of Canelo but hold the sport higher and call him out when hes ducking, which everyone but you know he is.

But its all good. To each their own.

    1. But Benavidez ran to Gvozdyk before he could enforce his mandatory status. That was weird.
