Nah. Not anymore. Rigo's last fight was tragic to watch even if he won.

One I’d like to have seen go pro period was Alexei Tischenko. Won two Olympic golds at two different weights, same as Loma. Their medals overlapped, too, with both winning in ‘08. He was a bit more similar to Tszyu as a stylist, albeit with more nimble footwork. Kinda like a bigger Arbachakov, actually. I’ve no doubt his style would’ve translated beautifully to the pros. Unlike 3 time Olympic medalist (2 gold, 1 bronze) Oleg Saitov, who was basically a bigger Zhou Shiming. In more ways than one.

    Thanks for the great picks!
I have to study some of the more.
Back to Laszlo Papp. He won 3 Olympic Gold Medals and started as professional at the age of 31. At the end of his career, his record was still 27-0-2 and he was also European Middleweight Champion. Maybe, he could be one of the Greatest at Mw, if he would start 10 years earlier as pro. Well, he was Hungarian and it was the time of the Iron Curtain.
Igor Vysotsky was also a strong amateur boxer and a bit the kryptonide for Teofilo Stevenson. A good HW boxer from fomer GDR was also Ulli Kaden (has beaten Stevenson and Lennox Lewis as amateur), or Peter Hussing from former West Germany.
Roberto Balado was also a strong Cuban boxer. Unfortunately, he died 1994 in a crash at a train crossing. Another great one was Mario Kindelan... In the future there are also some Chinese boxers on the advance.

Check out Ariel Hernandez. He was like a Middleweight Rigondeaux. One of the most talented Cuban ams I’ve seen on film.

Andres Aldama would have done damage in the pros.
