    I was one of the greatest heavyweight amateur champion and later on a United States Senator..Might have been a pro champ if I persued boxing..

    hh ,right again....Years ago I read that Warren Barbour,in 1910 was so highly rated as the heavyweight amateur champion of the USA and Canada...He was prompted by Jim Corbett and others to challenge the great Jack johnson, but his mother forced Barbour to decline a pro career..

    Thanks! He was from New Jersey, and that is where I am from. He is buried in the same cemetery as my parents, the Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson, New Jersey.
