not sure how I feel about the headguard thing, it seems unnecessary.

I agree. It just means cuts will be a more of an issue.

Yeah, I like 10 point must system but I don't like the removal of headguards.

This is a terrible idea. If people think the judging is bad now just wait till you allow it to be totally subjective.

My thoughts exactly. But I also think it will prepare fighters more for the Pro game.

thing is, amateur boxing is for amateurs, not full time guys. so now they will turn up to their jobs with cuts and bruises to the face because of their favourite pastime? don't think that will go down too well.

I don't know about you guys but I hate wearing headguards. You can't see all around, it moves when a punch grazes you meaning you have to readjust it, its a different weight on your head your not used to, and you still get hit the same it doesn't make shots that much lighter.

brain damage aka the bashing of your brain against your skull wouldn't be significantly reduced with a headguard, the general shock is there, they aren't exactly huge. yes they are uncomfy and get in the way sometimes, but they are used for good reason.

plus what happens with the weekend tournament situations? 3-4 fights in the space of a day or three for the finalists. a single cut can mean a no go.

Personally, I like amateur boxing the way it is. I welcome a new scoring system but that is it

Great idea the computer scoring has turned amateur boxing into fencing and once boxers get a lead all they do is run and stop fighting.

But this other BS is stupid. Why remove headgear and add this tournament nonsense? I like the 10 point must but everything else should stay the same.
