I can see fine in my headguard and it doesn't really move all that much. Turning up to work with cuts on my face is also not acceptable in the work I do. Maybe you need a different headguard?

Might as well just forget amateur boxing altogether with these changes imo, just go pro asap.

I also like the 10 point must system, and don't understand why the headgear needs to be removed. What is the dividing line between the amateurs and pros?

Theres no evidence that Headguards protect the Brain, in fact evidence points to the opposite. With Headguards you still get cut, seen enough of them. I like the idea of 3x3 rounds Open Class coming back, sort the Men from the Boys, bet you will see Skills coming back. :yep

    It's been back to 3x3 since 2009.

The computer scoring killed AM boxing-anyone that argues that is an idiot.
Headgear-leave it up to the boxers if they want to wear it fine but if they dont fine as well.

Scrap, have you seen Vasyl Lomachenko? Best boxer I have ever seen, amateur or pro. Skills have been back for years in the amateurs, lots of inside fighting and body punching with low scores where only solid clean blows score. I think a lot of people who complain about amateur boxing haven't watched it for 5 years, it's already very close to the pro game. 10 point must system just gives judges more of an excuse to justify their corrupt decisions. The only plus from this is that the casual observer might take more notice of amateur boxing as I think it's a popular misconception among people who don't follow the sport that the headguard takes away all the impact of a punch.
The bad outweighs the good here IMO. Ditch the headguards okay but keep the scoring the same, it's very accurate at the elite level. I have a feeling we'll be seeing guys looking confident and not being bothered by punches winning fights when really they received a boxing lesson. This promotes style over substance, it's bad for the sport.

i agree with taking the head gear off and changing the scoring system. This is the reason why i left amateur boxing and went to muay thai. It is so much better fighting with out head gear and the computerised scoring system is just bull****.

I actually find it easier to avoid being hit without a headguard, so I wouldn't mind.

Scoring system, yes. Headguards off, no. It's true the headguard won't protect against punch impact, brain damage, etc.. but it will prevent against unsightly and potentially debilitating cuts and eye damage.

If they move forward with all this in it's entirety, there will be nothing to seperate ams from pros and that is worrying imo for the am game....the am game will be officially dead :-(

  15. Same for me.
