i recall getting hit with a couple of hard shots in sparring and wondered what it would feel like man, what would that feel like without head gear?

at the end of the day, when you are fighting and you have the adrenaline, you dont feel the pain until the fight is over?

anyone ever get sore kneck and sharp head pains?

Hmm, Interesting post. I always value you're opinion lefty.

I love me some Vasyl though, can't wait till the Olympics and then for him to finally turn pro.

So amature boxing will become pro boxing with vests and bigger gloves? It's both terrible and brilliant at the same time.
    Terrible
10 point system= much more easier to justify dodgy or hometown decisions
no headgear= allows more cuts at amature level
    Brilliant
Allows amatures( most have dreams of beng pro) to not need a deep transition and gives them a chance to box land learn "as a pro" without harming their records

i am sparring 2-3 times a week. we have sparring gloves (20 oz) but they are available only during the training with trainer (which is only 2 times a week :?) so we are sparring with our own 10, 12 and 14 oz gloves without headgear.. we try to make sparring lighter, doing fast combos and everything but when we get tired (or adrenaline jumps up :)) there can be some heavier shot.. sometimes i have small headaches after training and its little bit misty :) i know these things are not good, and of course, this is not happening every time but we cannot help our selves (no money for proper equipment)

    sorry for offtopic

btw, this computers sucks but judges will also be subjective (and corupcy can be involved here), so my opinion that they need to make system where both would be part of judging. computers for some statistics, and judges for style, tehnic and boxing overall

Dont think no Headguards would Kill the Amatuer Game. 71 without Headgaurds, there were 120,000 amatuer Boxers in Britain. In 2010 with Headgaurds there were 10,000.

May as well just fight pro and fight bums until you feel like moving up in comp.

Would the 10 point system not take the skill factor out of Amateur boxing with judges picking boxers who works hard above the boxer who naturally better?

Going on what Lefty said and thinking about things like this... I think it should stay the way it is although I'm not completely opposed to the 10 point must for amateur boxing.

arrange for for a MRI if your worried or in prolonged pain

And never spar unsupervised again, having wars is the last thing you need for your long term health and if you seriously want to have a sucessfull career,

you'll be having more than enough wars in competion if you make it to a high level, trust me.

go to a professionl gym that has trainers there 6 days a week

And headgaurds are proven to reduce brain damage?

I've heard that certain styles can make blood clots more likely.

Whats wrong with that? I like that change.

I think everything here is good.
