With all of the low blow threads no one seems to be talking about the fact that Usyks last two fights have had grossly amateur productions. Joshua Usyk 2. The entire production was amateur hour. Four minute rounds and a slippery ring canvas that caused issues all night. The boxing ring also had dead zones with less bounce. For all the money they spent it was a shame none of it seemed to trickle into the actual event. Usyk Dubois. A single tarp, suspended ten feet above the fighters was all they used to try and stop pouring rain from hitting the canvas. It failed miserably and you could hear the squeaking shoes and see both boxers having to adjust to that nonsense. What the hell? These are multi million dollar events with highly tuned athletes. Ligaments and tendons tearing due to slips could be career ending at Usyks age. Why are some event promotions so incompetent? Thoughts?
I would imagine somewhere ring standards exist. I would hope that someone from any one of the alphabet organizations should be there to make sure things are up to basic code, no? 3% title defense fee and all per belt, theoretically speaking, what does it go to if not fighters safety?
