Does anybody know what organizational body tabulates amateur records and enforces amateur MMA rules in their state or province? I'm interested mainly in Canada and the USA here. I am from vancouver BC and our MMA is currently banned (pro). As far as I know we don't have a real amateur circuit atm. For California, I will hazard a guess that it is the California State Athletic Commission? Thanks in advance guys. :good
When I fought in Virginia they had some thing called the GCA which had about 50 or so amateur companys competing under their organized rules. As for records you can go to mixedmartialarts.com there they have records for alot of amateur fights.

They are on there bro you just gotta put in someones name and you will see results for there amateur and pro fights assuming they have knowledge that the amateur fights happened. Like theres a guy I train with whos record is on there and like 6 of his amateur bouts are listed but the one I personally saw his fight back in April isnt.
I don't see the point of ammy MMA, unless you want the rule changes. There is no ammy system built up like in boxing; you can't win the olympics or world championships or anything like that; not even a golden gloves. Might as well take low level pro fights, get a few hundred bucks, maybe some free stuff from sponsors.
I agree and theres nothing really safer about Amateur MMA then Pros the only major difference is 3 minute rounds, the gloves are the same and the one I competed at had no shin guards and obviously no headgear. The company my fight team fights for used to wear shin pads when they did shows in Delaware which makes no sense to me for MMA. Your exactly right about the Championships in Boxing its like alright my major goals are to win a Golden Gloves tournament and fight in the Olympics in 2012 for example. MMA its like ah I guess I can just win the Cagebattle Championship or some **** like that.
