sort of agree with both arguements.20 plus years ago when the only difference was more rounds, vests and money, the top ams and olypians were more or less garenteed pro success. But they ****ed with am boxin so much headgurds, scoring, it's now a completely different sport, the boxers have had to adapt, and i also think top quality is lost to the pros earlier. The promoters need to put arses on seats but also know the public wont be conned, after audley and to some extent khan. No figher should be rushed but need matched well, take the proper route-british,com,euro- not talkin world titles after 10 fights (unless they'r somethin special). That irish middle who degale beat in china looks made for pros not sure about degale. time will tell.
I didn't suggest Degale start fighting the likes of Pavilk and any world rated fighters. The point I'm making is that if matched FAR MORE SOFTLY in the first few years as a pro than the fighter has been used to facing at amateur then surely his skills will erode rather than improve
Very true, I can quite easily envisage a fight where a guy is dropped for a 10 count from a shot that doesn't score. You could have a guy winning by stoppage with the scores at 0-0.
