golovkin would be above matthyse in nearly everybody's p4p list.

arguably, ggg is the best in his division. martinez is past his prime.

matthyse just lost to danny garcia so we can safely say he is not the best in his division.

yes, matthyse has a better resume than ggg.

    1. I disagree. And I really don't care. Their list would be easily exposed as a hypocritical mess.

    2. Hekkie Budler is arguably the best fighter in his division. Does that make him better than every fighter who isn't the best fighter in their division?

    Of course not.

    3. One loss drops a fighter off that far? OK. However, in your P4P top 10 list you posted yesterday, you rank three fighters who are fresh off a loss or just one tune up fight removed from a loss.

So you are being awfully hypocritical if you still feel that way.

    4. Matthysse has a better resume. Glad you could acknowledge that. Now with looking at numbers 2. and 3., can you see why it makes no sense whatsoever for you to rank Golovkin over Matthysse?

Selimov was not a teenager. And he would have been the one to pick all those gold medals if Loma wasn't around.

Lomachenko also won the Olympic gold medal when he was 20 by beating the world champion (the very same Albert Selimov) in the process. So the comparison you've made isn't in place.

GGG is technically streets ahead of mathysse. Mathysse is a brawler who can box a little. He has lost his biggest fights against Garcia and Judah. GGG has smashed his opponents I agree that his opponents have been somewhat limited but that's because he's openly avoided. GGG has made easy work of fighters such as Maklin who has been the distance with Martinez. Based on his style
And his performances so far it's easy to see that GGG is will achieve much more than mathysse can.

I'm not sure about that, but it's possible as he didn't participate any major tournament except the Olympics.

From what I see on wikipedia, in the 2004 Olympics he fought at LHW and defeated Clemente Russo (highly regarded amateur who later won multiple world gold medals at HW) and then-actual world champion Makarenko as well as the world silver medalist and ex middleweight world champ from 1999. That's highly impressive, especially for a guy that never fought at any other major amateur competition.

That's great. But it's just your opinion of their skills, as you even admit that your opinion of their resume is that Matthysse is superior.

If both retired today, Matthysse had the greater career.

I see no argument as to how Golovkin can be rated above Matthysse. Only if you value being undefeated as the end all be all.

Lomno greatest Amateur ever What a record! 1 loss and then avenged that twice, laughing at people saying he beat up teenagers, yeah like when he was winning those olympic golds and world amateur championships, European championships. GTFO when Lombochenko was Mayweathers age he wasn't loosing was he.
