I think local fights even in America are scored by judges... Im pretty sure the Olympics only use their **** system

Yes but with 3 judges instead of 5 usually.

NICant03 is spot on. The Association use the computer scoring whereby judges sit at ringside with buttons to press when they see a scoring punch.. with either the majority or entireity, i forget, of judges having to push the button within 1sec to score.

The League uses pro-style scoring. But, ive had nothing to do with the League so other than that no nothing about it.

As a note, the League fighters can not represent Australia; only Association fighters can.

3 of the 5 judges at ringside need to hit the appropriate coloured button with in 1 sec of each other. The scoring part of the glove must hit the scoring part of the body with out deflection from opponents gloves, arms etc and with adequate force to register a point.

I've had a few league fights and can confirm that they use pro scoring, i believe Global boxing uses they same method and more than anything the league seems to be a good breeding ground for pros

Gotta say the Olympic points judging so far has been inconsistent to say the least. Have watched bouts where obvious scoring punches, particularly to the body, have been totally ignored by the judges.

At the Melbourne Commonwealth Games the points scored resembled a lot more closely what went on in the ring.

We uses judges, but we definitely don't use a pro style scoring system. It's all based on points, just without the computer.

The more bouts I watch the more confused I become with the scoring.

There's a large picture in the The Games section of the Melbourne Herald Sun this morning showing the Moroccan HW Amanissi landing a straight right, with the scoring part of the glove (white dot), to the face of his Chinese opponent. You can see from the picture that there's been a reasonable amount of impact made.

The point they are making in the caption to the picture is that NO POINT WAS SCORED!

Okay, pictures can be misleading. But the scoring, particularly for body punches, has been bloody baffling!!
