Magomedrasul Medzhidov Promoters from US(Top Rank), Russia, Europe (Sauerland) and even promoters from UK(Warren, Hearn) have tried to sign Magomedrasul Medzhidov. Ryabinsky offered contracts to Levit and Tischenko straight after the Rio Olympics but both rejected because of their wish to achieve more in amateur ranks but they have expressed interest to turn pro after next Olympic games. Omarov was more reluctant but didn't exclude turning pro after next Olympics but said, that he wouldn't regret not turning pro. Boxingnews.ua,vk(russian facebook), sites you mentioned, youtube and google. Hearn wanted to sign Medzhidov at the start of his promotional career. And Hearn's father Barry as well. Medzhidov has said, that if he would turn pro he would have to sign with promoter which is close to his home country because if you want to travel outside out of Azerbaijan you need visa and also he doesn't want to leave Azerbaijan for long. And he acknowledged that leaves him with limited option for who to sign. He could sign only with Ukraine based promoter, Kazakhstan based promoter or with Russia based promoter and he still could leave only for 90 days. And he was retired prior to Rio games but his trainer convinced him to not to retire.
Tony Yoka Arum tried to sign Yoka but Yoka didn't like that he couldn't see how much he will earn for a fight and the fact that he didn't want to live in US like TOP Rank suggested. Yoka was intrigued by Top Rank's offer and they were front runners before Shaefer made his offer. There were other suitors as well. K2 was one of them. K2 offered million+ to sign Yoka but Yoka didn't like the fact of not knowing how many fights he will have and fact of ongoing war in Ukraine. There was a promoter from France as well. He was the friend of Yoka and was offering to Yoka deal with Canal Sport France. Ge also was the person who advised Yoka to turn pro. But in the end opted to sign more influential promoter in Richard Shaefer. In the end Yoka got the deal Canal Sport France anyways. Al Haymon was in the hunt as well. He made two offers and he offered well over 1 million the second time to try to sign Yoka. Yoka signed a less money deal with Shaefer but signed deal with clear indications on how much he will fight and what amount of money he will get and Shaefer was ok with Yoka basing himself in France.
I like it, gathering up that world wide talent. These guys are getting million dollar offers from the beginning now? These wanna be football and basketball guys here better start thinking about an alternative if sports is their career.
Mytrofanov (Ukraine), Sep (Croatia) & Baksai (Hungary) have all gone pro under the radar recently, and three were good amateurs.
Shakram Giyasov just signed to turn pro. Giyasov is a good fighter, he fought the toughest opposition in the olympics, Rabii (world amateur champion), Iglesias (Olympic champion), Daniyar (world amateur champion) and Eimantas Stanionis (european champion) and he beat them all besides Daniyar who was one of the finest boxers at the games if not the finest. He is athletic and tough but too raw just like the rest of the Uzbek team, to be honest, im not his biggest fan, but he has heart, he is an olympic silver medalist and he recently won the world championship, Fazzlidin Gaibnazarob (who i didn't rate highly as an amateur) has become one of my favorites prospects so who knows, maybe Giyasov can be a good pro. P.D Someone needs to sign the real stars of the Uzbek team, Zoirov, Dusmatov and Melekuziev are far better than Giyasov and Gaibnazarov. __________________
They just have to win some high level international tournaments before promoters offer them that kind of scratch. I guess Wilder's bronze medal was good enough to get him in.
You have to wait couple of years for that. He has stated that he will stay amateur for next Olympics.
Light heavyweight from Kzakhstan Arman RYSBEK will make his pro debut on January in US. He is set to face Hakim Atkinson. He became a champion with Kazakhstan Arlans team in last season's WSB. He was victorious in 5 fights and lost in 2 bouts in last season's WSB. https://www.worldseriesboxing.com/boxers/arman-rysbek P.S. A fresh face for the light heavyweight division.
Heavyweight Renat Rakhimov is set to make his pro debut on January 27 card.He is finalist of 2013 Sidney Jackson Memorial, where he beat decent amateur Mirzokhid Abdullayev by TKO 1 and he beat Bakhodyr Zhololov in semifinals by 3/0 score. P.S. Looks mediocre to me but at least a new face for the heavyweight division.
2013 English Junior & Youth National Championships finalist, the light heavyweight Zane Turner will make his pro debut on February 9.
