How many amatuer fights would you recomend a fighter before going pro. This is a question i always wanted opinions on.In my opinion i believe 30 at least.
i think 50 - 60 is a reasonable figure, 30 may be a little bit early as you still need 2 feel out whats right for you. it depends on the skill level of the individual, some fighters have 100 at amateur level, some dont even fight in the amateurs but i wouldnt recommend that unless your ultra talented or stupid.
Boxing is an individual sport therefore every boxer has a unique situation. There are no minimum requirements for amateur experience. It largely depends on talent and style.
It's not a number game. Some homies went 400 fights and were ATGs. Others won medals at the Olympics, and were balls as pros.
like others said i think it comes down to the boxer some go pro straight away some have a heap of fights others like myself will just do amateur just for a sport and some fun and fitness comes down to what u want AND how dedermined you are at going big your whole life will have to change if u go pro i beleive
It depends on age, ability and divison. At least 20. In a perfect world, a fighter turns pro between the ages of 21-24 with 50+ amatuer fights.
Would someone with a style like hatton be better off going pro quickly? I don't see that grab and hit style scoring very many clean (or obvious) points in the am's.
Pro boxing is a completley differant sport to the ams nowdays. Computer scoring has changed styles, not sure if its good or bad.
Some good fighters have turned pro with NO amateur experience. All depends on the individual i guess.
