You've probably already seen this but maybe not from this angle 9.51 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXno_ktOU_k
Seen it a few times, but thanks for the upload. He was incredible at 168, that knockout of Paz was amazing! People say it wasn't because Vinny was blown up, but look at his footwork. Who could throw a 6 punch combo like that with two uppercuts, whilst walking forward? I've never seen a knockout as good as that.
Thanks for sharing. I watched about 20 minutes of it (including the one you mentioned), awesome stuff. That Pazienza fight looked very exciting.
Great compilation :good Roy Jones Jnr has his detractors around here. But he was one of the most exciting and entertaining fighters to ever don a pair of gloves. Anyone that missed seeing that had their eyes closed at the time.
Most gifted boxer ever. If he didn't get old I don't think anyone beats him. And he went up to heavyweight. He could have gone up there earlier in his career and beaten Holyfield or Tyson legitimately.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=nXno_ktOU_k#t=700s What other boxer had handspeed, power and accuracy to do this to a fighter?
And steroids give you that ridiculous level of technique....how? Leave aside the argument as to whether he was on anything...how would steroids help you throw punches from those angles with that level of acuracy and technique?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=nXno_ktOU_k#t=1225s How do you fight this? I don't care who you are. Pick any fighter in history, and tell me how they would deal with this. It's just super human.
He was great at middleweight. He destroyed himself when he went from 174 all the way to 193 and back 175. Fluctuating in weight is a dangerous thing and is when he began to lose. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=1758&cat=boxer
Old timers in the Boxing game, always disparage fighters from the era that is currently in progress. At the time, even those old dogs had to admit that Jones was as good or better in terms of ability, as anyone they'd ever seen. Tells you everything you need to know about a peak RJJ.
Yeah, because everyone fighter that has taken roids had been able to do that!atsch Roy had a great talent, with or without doping. 3 of his opponents were roided to their eyeballs that we know about, i am sure there were many more.. I am sure Roy didn't have too many advantages, on the hard working clean opponent. People that think roids is what made Roy are foolish, and in more denial than the Jones lovers that don't think he used PEDs.. Just because their heros were never tested, doesn't mean they never used a PED. They have been rampant for decades, with little testing.
