I knew this weekend was going to be good, but a Box Rec search just showed me HOW good. Championship fights, comeback fights, title eliminators all over the world this weekend! I don't remember any weekends more stacked than this in recent memory. IN BROOKLYN: Paul Malignaggi Vs Zab Judah Dirrell Vs Bika Alexander Vs Porter Lara Vs Trout Julian Williams vs Orlando Lora IN AC: Rigo Vs Agbeko Kirkland Vs Tapia Macklin Vs Lamar Russ Also fighting in America are Mexican prospect Gilberto Ramirez-Sanchez (26-0 20KO's) and former title challenger Daniel Diaz. IN LIVERPOOL: Undefeated British prospects Liam Smith and Paul Butler fight in separate bouts, with Enzo Maccarinelli on the under card. IN MEXICO: Blown up former flyweight mainstays Hugo Cazares and Julio Cesar Miranda will fight each other with the winner, especially if it's Cazares, likely positioning himself for a title shot. In Germany: Barker Vs Strum Also, former featherweight champions, Mzonke Fana and Malcolm Klassen both launch comeback this weekend... Jesus! :yikes
You forgot the best fight this weekend: Akira Yaegashi vs. Edgar Sosa, for Yaegashi's RING/WBC Flyweight titles.
Kirkand-Tapia Judah-Malignaggi Those fights I am most interested because I have been following them for long time. Thou I did not even know few weeks back that Kirkland was fighting.
How Alexander-Porter/Lara-Trout isn't the main event I'll never know. Judah-Malignaggi is a garbage fight at best.
I'm hoping Kirkland puts on a good show and looks the business, been following him for ages and had high hopes for him. I hope Paulie beats Judah, but I think Judah as long as he doesn't have a breakdown, beats Paulie in a great technical exhibition. Trout vs Lara will be a great fight, I got Lara to win this, I just think he is too strong for Trout. Enzo Maccarinelli needs to retire! Chris John is also fighting tomorrow night in Australia, for what its worth.
If both perform how they did in their previous fights, despite both losing, I think it could be a good bout to watch.
I have my tickets to the Brooklyn fight and then will make it to my place in time for the HBO West broadcast to the Kirkland -Tapia fight. The west feed begins at 12:45 am-a 3 hour delay from Atlantic City.:good
