I just saw that Martinez took the Williams fight on 1-month's notice. Signing to fight a nightmare like Williams on short notice like that is insane! I'm surprised he was able to keep the pace that he did in that fight. I definitely have a new found respect for this guy. Thoughts?

With a proper training camp and non-corrupt judging Martinez easily takes the rematch.

Paul will fight him again he is a warrior. Just to clean the air even though he won this fight clearly by effective aggression and work rate. Paul will come back and likely stop martienz this time. Paul wasnt prepared well and still won. It will be much easier the second time around.

Yeah that was pretty impressive by Martinez. I hope they have a rematch because Martinez deserves another shot at Paul. This is a little off topic, I missed the first 8 rounds of this fight and the commentators kept saying that this fight was a classic. Was it a classic fight to you guys?

Martinez is a fighter's fighter. You can just see it.

Also, look at the class he handles himself with. Gets robbed of a KO against Cintron, then gets told by some dip**** he lost 11-1 to Williams, and he laughs it off without losing his composure. That takes some serious character.

i think martinez knows he can beat williams in the rematch and i think he can. he hurt williams with single shots. imagine the damage sergio would of done if he would of followed up with 2-3 more shots after the right hook that sent williams flying across the ring. i think in sergio's head he doesn't believe he is a ko artist and doesn't really know how to or chooses not to finish a fighter off. i think he might of finished paul early if he followed up after that right hook. i think even sergio was surprised he was able to hurt much less drop williams. i went for williams, but i like sergios chances in a rematch. he'll be better prepared, of course so will williams

Agreed. Martinez only has a couple of mistakes to correct and Paul has a ton.

I'm a big fan of Martinez. At the very least he deserved a draw last night. And I think at 154 he would have had an easier time with Williams. The weight was definitely in Williams' favor. But Martinez is 34 so he doesn't have that many more fights left in him. And certainly not at that insane pace.

Mad respect to Martinez. I couldn't believe the fight was so soon when it was first announced.

Then when he dropped Williams in the first with a beautiful counter right hook I stood up from my seat.

    Sergio deserves the rematch.
