America is no longer the home of Boxing

  1. Matthyse vs Olusegun sold like 300 tickets.

They gave thousands of free tickets out for Ward vs Dawson in a small hall show

Bradley vs Alexander was a joke.

I'm glad though because it means that the Americans can't keep robbing fighters and cherry picking while hbo hypes them up as atg's

The heavyweight division has completely packed up and gone to Europe, that's the most important in boxing, now the other, lesser divisions will begin to do the same.

More money, more interest, better fighters, it's all in Europe.

Sad times to be an American boxing fan

agreed, its been like that for a while, mayweather and pacman, arguebly the 2 greatest fighters of the last decade couldnt even fill MGM or Mandalay Bay, even though most of the tickets are comps, all the while shows in germany packing 20/30 thousand in, UK Burns, Froch, Framton, even Brooke getting 10,000 bums on seats. Americans give European fighters alot of stick if you dont fight in america your nothing, thats BS why would they? Calzaghe hatton packing out 50/60 thousand in their fights, Klits getting 30/40 thousand, American boxing is dead and has been for some time

American boxing is dead? Hardly dead. A level head when discussing this would be great, but if there is one thing I've thought American boxing would be good with is stadium fights but I'm sure European fighters envision at least one glorious headlining bill in Las Vegas. I've heard David Haye mentioned it pre Klitschko, saying how he saw Hatton's name in lights on the strip and wanted that for himself.

Alot of rubbish gets said like you need to make it in America in boxing which isnt true at all.
Just look at Ward and Dawson, considered big names in their respective divisions and they end up fighting in Oakland, hardly the big stage.
When you see how big the crowds are for the Klitschko brothers it says it all

    Bradley v Alexander?

Yes it did, Bradley won by TD10 in a pretty boring and uneventful (besides the headbutts) fight

Max Schmeling said to the Klitschko's if you want to be fully respected as a Boxer you have to fight in America.
