Dontaey Wilder isnt going to take over ****. Denis Boytsov, Robert Helenius, Kubrat Pulev are all European prospects that would completely crush him. Besides the Klitschkos the eastern bloc has Povetkin, Adamek, Chagaev, Boytsov and Pulev. What does the US have? Eddie Chambers is a good fighter, but that's it. And there is nobody coming up, Wilder isn't going to stand a chance against any of the guys mentioned. The HW scene is staying (white) European.

I think the WBC's, WBA's, WBO's, etc. took that away. I think nowadays being the number 1 P4P is the new HW champion. I guess until the sanctioning bodies start giving out titles of who they think is P4P best casual fans around the world can identify with who is the best.

Yep, and that's why Boxing has that preception that it is "dying" two reason. First of all most U.S. citizens are ignorant and couldn't name you 5 other countries around the world. Second, is the mainstream media doesn't talk about Boxing. People continue to support Boxing and people love Boxing here in the U.S., but the mainstream media gives no attention to Boxing for some reason unknown to me.

Ali was famous because he was fast and exciting. Tyson was famous because he knocked mother****ers out and was exciting. Same with every other past great American champion.

Likewise the Klitsckos arent famous because they ARENT exciting.

**** your names Kevin McBride and I actually expected you to have some intelligence lol?

Most prestigious. :rofl Yeah maybe 20 years ago when the guys actually fought eachother in the ring and didnt have a 50lb weight advantage and still run behind the jab like the Clit sisters.

  8. There you go again with that pathetic Yank moan that "the bigger boy Europeans are to big for us, it's not fair, they're cheating!"
I said it once and I'll say it again, pathetic! You know there is a reason why it's called the HEAVY weight championship.

There's no way of knowing how well a top baskeball player would do in the HeavyWeights, until he actually gets hit it's just pure speculation. Lebron James(or whatever his name is) might have a china chin, Michael Jordan might not be able to string a combination together to save his life.

If anything it both reeks of bad sportsmanship and disrespect for the fighters who are at the top right now from U.S fight fans who support this theory

  10. Of course out side of America every other Country on the planet only take part in one sport which is of course boxing seems to be what the racist Yanks would have you believe.

I am not american, but, here are my thoughts on this. I think american tv (Canada as well) have to promote boxing better. Before you had boxing on tv free fights that where good with recognized names. We don't see that exposure anymore as everything is PPV now. I understand the fighters want to maximize there earnings. I think this is why boxing is not as popular as it once was in north america, the exposure is not there like it once was.

I think more needs to be done than that but that's a start:good ideally, promotion=fans=money=athletes venturing into the sport at an alarming rate again but it's not happening that way, not at the moment anyway.

If America is weaker in boxing now why haven't other countires who could compete before the 90's started beating the Americans also?

Without the Eastern Europeans America would still be the best by far!!

Here's what the heavyweight division would look like today if not for the East..

    #1 Eddie Chambers.
    #2 Tony Thompson.
    #3 David Haye
    #4 Chris Arreola.
    #5 Jean M Mormeck.
    #6 Sam Peter.
    #7 Cedric Boswell.
    #8 Dereck Chisora.
    #9 Tyson Fury.
    #10 Franklin Lawrence.

America would still be top dog in the division....

    (sigh heavily here)

Look, the reason that Americans are not in the heavyweight picture has nothing to do with basketball or baseball or whatever. It always was a tiny minority of atheletes that went into boxing, and it always will be, in this an every country.

The reason that Americans are not a factor in the heavyweight division is that this country has gone soft. The mentality is not there.

    Period.
