    Hey all.

I just got this book in the mail today called America on the Ropes. The book is all about the Johnson Jeffries fight. The book is amazing, adn the presentation is top notch.

It has tons of pages of great quality pictures. There are tons of very rare photographs, political cartoons from the time, and more. The think is very big too and weighs like 8 pounds.

Personally, I wanted to see more info about the book before I made the purchase ($70), but couldnt find any substantial info on the net. So if anyone was interested in seeing a closer look of this book, just let me know, I can upload a short video showing some of the pages and rare photographs.

I 've had the book for a while ... it has a lot of the same info on Johnson/Jeffries ... I was personally very disappointed with the quality of the photographs. In a book of this price, they were blurry, cheap reproductions of the classic work done by Dana ... I remember wanting to like it but was terribly disappointed by the poor production quality ..

Looking forward to reading this book. Very apt title,as Johnson had to tolerate a lot of bull**** from the establishment.

I'm interested in a closer look. I read Unforgivable Blackness and loved it. Johnson is one of the most interesting fighters of his time as is Jeffries.

    hey grant.

The only instance where I agree with you, is the pictures of Johnsn knocking Jeffries down. It seems barely any good pictures were taken during this, because about 4/5 of the photos showing the knockdowns are clearly from the video footage of the fight.

Other than that, I have no complaints with the book. Im a HUGE Johnson fan, and I would have said I have seen almost all his rare photos and info on him, until I got this book.

Anyways I'll let you guys see for yourself when I upload the video today.

Jack Johnson was infinitely the best heavyweight of that era.
