what do you mean as some of you Americans like to say?? The organizations have different names for the titles, WBC calls it Super-Bantam, IBF calls it Junior Feather....has nothing to do with Americans.

Yeah he seems to be counting Dunne as from the 'UK' despite him being Irish and born in Ireland.

But Duddy who is Irish, but born in the UK, is counted as American :?

In gerenal this is a dumb thread...Truth is the UK only has a handful of elite fighter, and the population of this and that really means ****. Compare the UK with PR and see how the UK comes out..

Funny thing that gets me as how the cats from the UK and Europe loves to compare the US with the world or all of Europe..Why not throw in Mexico and Canada and make it Europe vs North America??? Cuz we all know that it would be a total landslide. There is far too much time spent here tring to prove who produces the better fighter, when its really pretty clear and not even close.

While we're at it lets do Puerto Rico vs America as proportion of population, eh?

Population ratio means absolutely nothing in boxing. Otherwise China and India should be ruling boxing. As someone said, boxers vs boxers would be a better comparison but nearly impossible to track. I would venture given the same sample in any division (top 100 vs top 100 or whatever arbitrary #, whether Pro or Amateur, the UK isn't "ahead" of anything).

And I see why Americans get a bad name from people like Jeff M, referring to Puerto Rico as a separate "country". Such great intelligence should be kept to one's self. Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the U.S. - anyone born in Puerto Rico is a U.S. Citizen, the currency is the greenback, they can vote in federal elections, they can join the U.S. military, etc.. etc...

Puerto Ricans seems to enjoy their dual status, which is why going to statehood has been so excruciatingly slow. They don't want to give up the pride of a separate identity, such as representation in the Olympics or the World Pageants, yet by all other definitions they are as American as Texas Bob born a few states over. And they love NYC so much there's a bigger population of Puerto Ricans in Brooklyn/Queens/the Bronx than San Juan

You're an idiot. In boxing, no one combines Puerto Rico and the U.S.
We don't consider Puerto Rico one of our "territories." If Puerto Rico ever passes a vote to become a state within our country then we can combine them, but for all intents and purposes, we don't think of it this way even if technically, Puerto Rico is part of America.

Only an "idiot" would call Puerto Rico a country, an idiot from Columbus, OH no less that should know how his own damn government works. Puerto Rico IS considered a territory of the United States. Maybe you should go back to school and learn what "commonwealth" is.

Ignorance is bliss. Then again, you did try to claim full credit for Mosley's dominating KO victory over Margarito when your own prediction was a half-assed, timid SD guess riddled with doubt. Shortbus genius logic I suppose.

Shane's game plan was exactly what I predicted and went the way I said it would. I got credit from credible posters here for that. Why don't you ask Puerto Ricans if they think they should be lumped in with the states? Anyone who lives here or in Puerto Rico would no doubt think you're a complete idiot, which would be correct. Oh, I think Williams/Wright just went exactly the way I predicted as well!:rasta
