Again, nobody gives a damn that he crossed the pond. Good for him. Too bad he waited until the end of his career and fought a couple of guys around 40+

What do you mean, touch his record? I know Hopkins, Jones, Mayweather, will all certainly go down as greter fighters. Dawson has a chance to be greater himself. He's only 26 and he's accomplised far more than Calzaghe did at that age. Hell, Calzaghe defended a WBO paper title until his mid 30's.

David Haye is going to get knocked out against the first legit HW that he fights. All the U.K has is Calzaghe. Haye was already beat up by an old man and will get starched again. Hatton got his ass kicked properly by an American. Junior Witter got beat by an American and is now irrelevant. Gavin Resse was exposed as a fraud. Who the hell do you guys have besides Calzaghe?

I'm a Liverpool fan too! but, as we have a union, we are all part of Great Britain, but I do believe our loyalty is first and foremost to our individual countries over the union. That said we did have the empire as one, we do fight side by side, so nothing wrong with being Welsh, Scottish or English.

Ok, so "nationality means nothing" to you. Fair enough, how about the ability to read? I mentioned that I wasn't a Joe Calzaghe fan, there is something inbetween a nuthugger and a hater, its called an "objectice person" (you might want to write that down). Also, I didn't "tell you where you come from" I simply pointed out that you didn't sound like an authentic English person, the over use of the word "mate", the phrase "get over it", the fact that the first thing you wrote was "I'm not American (you protest to much!). All these things make you sound a)like a **** b)like a fraud.
And why the ****, if you hate Joe Calzaghe so much, would you spend 13 years old your (obviously pathetic) life watching him? That sounds bizzare and I'm starting to think your reasons might be somewhat homosexual in nature.

It's all good bro. Boxing fans always have disparity in their views but I think you are right that MANY american fans are praying and hoping Joe doesn't retire undefeated with Wins over Bhop and Roy Jones. In america those two names are reknown in US boxing and for a brit to hold two "W's" over 2 of our "ATG's" will get a lot of hate spewed cross the pond.

I love Joe C....I dig his style and his ability. As a fan of boxing I also resent the fact that Joe could have really given us some special fights in his prime and shook up the world of boxing if he wasn't so concerned with his undefeated ledger and more ambitious regarding challenging himself against the very best.....he's doing it now with decent results but it's been a long time comming.

Can't wait to see how things play out with Roy and Joe going at in in November. Roy will have to have a very special preformance to beat Joe...Joe is like wine and has been ever improving, by beating Bhop that only helps him in there with Roy.

Spoken like a true wanker rugby fan. My loyalty is to my family, my friends and the other people and things that are important to me, not some flag on a pole.

This whole thread is about American hatred towards Calzaghe. How can we hate him if we are indifferent towards him as a whole?

Hey! Why must you always try to throw in side remarks about American's? That's not nice.....We dont go round saying things like, "you must be on your 3rd or 4th laptop since your foul breath is strong enough to melt plastic" Or "the only real reason you watch boxing in Britan is to see which boxer looks the best with shorts and no shirt"...NO....We don't need to throw that kind of verbal jabs your way.:D

To be honest mate, I'm not sure an American should be telling us that there no British talents around, especially when the current crop of American fighters are all nearly retired or massive hype jobs who get exposed in pretty quick order. Maybe you should your own house in order before you start criticising others?

How can you speak for all Americans?
Not even the legenday Barack Obama can do that?
But yeah, the topic and premise of this thread is stupid.

I agree with everything you say mate, wish more of you were of that attitude. I just think as joe was going through his career it was every bit as daunting to go over the pond as it was for say bhop or rjj. out of 112 fights they had only 2 were fought out of the US, one of which was still in the americas.
