Hopkins is obviously still way past his prime...

Nobody would fight him because he was British? Sooooooo, it was American TV networks fault that Calzaghe was held back? hahahahahaha

    That's typical blame game bull****.

I guess that's the reason why Calzaghe fought nobodies from 1997-2006 haha, because of USA TV NETWORKS hahahahahaha

i'd have to agree, especially after the kessler fight. a lot of them just popped up, mostly obnoxious ones at that. funny considering there were only a few calzaghe fans here when i had my first account in '06. i'd stop arguing if i were you, you aint gettin nowhere here.

The hate will always be there, that's a given these days but he will be appreciated in the long run and rated very high whether they hate him or not.

I repeat, America is different than pretty much every other country considering our origin and history. Native Americans immigrated to this country as well, and had their land taken over hundreds of years ago. There really is no Americn bloodline, as this is a relatively new country filled with a collection of ethnicities from around the world.

Hopkins is far from past his prime, when Joe beat him, he was p4p 4, people only said he was past it because Joe won, we saw against Pavlik, he is not past it.

We also saw Jones chase limited fighters for big money and Hopkins pull out and double his demands after agreeing a fight.

Because as someone said ''Calzaghe is unknown in America'' the TV networks out there wouldn't make teh fights, and Americans dont leave their comfort zone i.e America so what was he to do?

The other poster... Benn could be compared to anyone, even Jones, he took big fights, never ducked anyone, was robbed in the Eubank 2 encounter, and beat the McClennan who beat Roy Jones Jnr as an amateur. No shame in comparing someone to Benn.

For one thing, calzaghe dosnt run his mouth off!!!, how you could even compare his mouth to bhop or rrj is beyond me, calzaghe has always shunned the spotlight. secondly, who would you like him to fight, and before you say dawson like everyone else, that name has only came up since pavlik got his ass kicked

Easily. I mean Calzaghe is a respected champion imo, but it's impossible to root for him if you've read how his fans talk about him around here.

No point in talking if you though Hopkins isn't way past his prime. The fight with Pavlik was the first time that Hopkins looked the way he used to, since before the Taylor fights...

If you don't think that a 43 year old is past his prime, then I'm sorry for you.

Please don't attempt to compare RJJ's resume to Calzaghe. It's an insult to RJJ.

Jesus Christ.:patsch It's like I'm dealing with children here. When the hell did I say Calzaghe wasn't good? I said they typical American doesn't know him, and doesn't care enough about him to hate him.

theres not many people with a resume as good as RJJ, not saying joes is as good but joe also has a 0 after it. also i agree that hopkins is past his prime but saying that was the 1st time hes looked like his oldself since before taylor is wrong, the tarver fight was the last one
