Me: Irish family (literally) so was taught fighting was how men worked out disagreements. Mom signed me up for Jujitsu in middle school. Undefeated. Joined the wrestling team in highschool. Undefeated. Started powerlifting in highschool. Set my first record at 18. Ranked number one in the nation and on Team USA in 2011. Got into bare knuckle boxing in highschool. Fought for money. This continued after highschool and into the Army. Undefeated. Spent 5 years in the US Army. Undefeated in Army combatives. Decided to try out Golden Gloves when I moved close to a boxing gym last year. Ended up having to move away after a few months, but in that time I sparred with experienced heavyweights, one a champion, and was undefeated. Now I live in Taiwan. I am actively training myself once again, and taking any fights I can get. I am set to fight the current Undefeated Heavyweight who is originally from Japan. Will update on how it goes. Powerlifting for 8 years has built strength and explosive power. I still lift heavy to keep the muscle. In order to strengthen my hands/fists, I punch a cement wall for a predetermined number of repetitions multiple times a week. To strengthen my Jaw and face so that it is able to take more abuse, I hit myself in predetermined areas of my face for a predetermined number of repetitions. Initially I used a block of wood, but have moved up to a brick recently. To train my striking accuracy, combinations, etc, I shadow box every day. I first perform a predetermined number of repetitions for various individual strikes, followed by combinations. To train my core, I do regular core exercises as well as dropping bricks and plate weights on my torso in predetermined locations for a predetermined number of repetitions. My next entry will be the start of my daily training journal.
