Of course we should boo. The ****in' opposition won on our home court. I enjoyed the sparse chants of USA though.

If I whooped a Brit at the M.E.N. Arena I wouldn't expect a chorus of cheers. They'd express their sentiments accordingly.

I say cheer your guy but STFU if you can't cheer for the other guy. Nothing wrong with respect.

There were also boos for Penalosa last night. It was obvious that both Lopez and Taylor benefited from fighting in there home countries. I think both fights were cases of the hometown admiration for Taylor and Lopez generated the the opposite reaction for their opponents just like in any other sport and were not cases of subjective ill feeling towards Froch and Penalosa. That being said, I'm sure that present in both crowds were certain spectators who flat out dislike Froch and Penalosa also just like in any other sport but that makeup would surely represent as the minority.

Very sensitive are we?Actually the Brits booed the Star Spangled Banner at the Hatton fight. If the Yanks booed God Save the Queen(not the Sex Pistols version, mind you),it'd be an international incident. And the Brits booed Gentleman Glencoffe Johnson repeatedly against Clinton Woods. And the English booed the Haka on the All Blacks tour last year. And in England when racist Alan Minter said that he would never lose his title to a black man(shades of mouthy Hopkins),Marvelous Marvin Hagler proceeded to take HIS title and destroy Minter, the classiest fans ever bombarded the ring with beer tins, putting several people at unnecessary risk. Perfect.Do I need to even mention Heysel? You need to stop being so sensitive and one-sided.There are scumbags and classless assholes everywhere who can't appreciate the efforts of world class fighters.Grow up.

This is pretty funny seeing the fact that most white and black americans actually hate being american. We will usually cheer any hispanic, latino or asian person over our own people. I havent seen the fight yet but if we did boo Carl Froch then it shows that we still have a few americans who are proud and love our country.

    Ye I don't think it's a big deal. Unless a guy's fought a good fight.

WTF? You guys be saluting your flag, teary eyed, and standing for the anthem all the time. They did it when I went to bloody Seaworld.

    Come on man.

they did booo lightly as he was announced, not his nations anthem or anything, and this happens everywhere. They did NOT boooo that he had won the fight though, did they?......NO.

The thing with the Anthem, was a huge UK crowd boooo'd our anthem at our own house (and it was amplified by the fact the UK crowd waaaayyyy out numbered the US fans in that arena). Booo'ing our anthem at YOUR house is up to you.:p

Congrats to Froch and his fans for an EXTRAORDINARY show of heart and determination to go the full mile and take JT out. Very good showing for Froch on his first US visit and am willing to bet, he won't be booo'd next time.:deal

PS....IF you really paid attention, that crowd boooo'd Taylor's ass too. Maybe Froch a little louder, but both were boooo'd coming into the ring. I don't know if that crowd was there for Allan Green or some perhaps local "star" was on the undercard? But watch again, and you will hear the boooo'ing as Taylor is coming in too.

Probably seems crazy to others, but this is what we are taught here from the time you start grade school. You stand, take off your hat, and put your right hand over your heart. If you were taught that from the time you were 5 years old, it might not sound so silly.:good
