This thread is in appreciation to American fighters. The greatest country in world history producing the greatest fighters in world history. It is truly beautiful and inspiring. I would like every one to name a fighter that people might not know, that is of course American, and tell us a little about them.
I will start it off. Marlon Davis. Very good amateur, Cleveland, turned professional, didn't turn out, now he is in his early 20's and he is the head coach of the city wide team.
Juan McPherson, 2003 world amateur welterweight champion. Cleveland, had tons of wars with Andre Berto. Juan led the American team in the American vs Ireland competition of 2004. Great fighter.
David "Nino" Rodriguez 26-0 (25 KO) Mexican-American HW from El Paso. Fought recently on the Holyfield/Savarese undercard, and is fighting this Friday on Telefutura. To date, he has beat only a bunch of bums, but he's working his way up. The guy has some promise. Stay tuned. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=47041&cat=boxer
Jack Johnson was born in 1878, He was an African-American Boxer, and the first Black heavyweight-boxing champion. He turned professional in 1897 In 113 fights, over the next 35 years, he lost only eight. He is still considered one of the great counter punchers of all time.
I thought of starting a thread like this, but never got to it. I'm glad someone else did though. :thumbsup atriot
The man who got me into boxing. "Iron" Mike Tyson Once known as the baddest man on the planet. 50 - 6, 44 KOs former WBC/WBA/IBF Heavyweight Champion
