nah,i know the guy pretty well so thats why i have him as my avatar,i appreciate what hes done for the sport in ireland and the feeling of pride that hes brought back to the people of derry.i mean working as a lifeguard after giving up boxing then some guy asking 'o, u wana come be a pro over in new york and see how you get on' and now he's top 10 in the world, its a pretty good story.
Everyone has of course heard of him,,,but he got me into boxing....the ONE AND ONLY Marvelous Marvin Hagler, from Brockton Massachusetts. Professional record of 62-3-2. A fantastic, fluid boxer that had a granite chin and could trade with the best of them if he wanted to (see Hearns fight which is typically brought up as one of the best ever). A real nice guy to boot that will sign autos and talk with fans. Had a work ethic second to none and always came ready to fight! Can you tell he's my fav? :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb
Bernard Hopkins His win over Tito was what got me into boxing once and for all. He was in New York, which is Hopkins' country but Tito's back yard. And after he won he got up on the ropes and started screaming USA! USA! USA! it was awesome. Im not even American
Beau Jack, a two time lightweight champion. Went from the bottom to the top back to the bottom. I think he is starting to get forgotten, so here he is, presented to you.
So true. But I don't expect he'll try for a world title for till about 2014. He wants to beat George Foreman's age record.
jerry quarry bellflower belter fought muhammad ali x2, joe frazier x2, ken norton, buster mathis, george chuvalo, mac foster, ron lyle, jimmy ellis, floyd patterson x2, eddie machen, earnie shavers truly one of the great forgotten ones
Anyone say Roy Jones Jr yet? Unbelievable in his prime. How many titles did he carry at once while he was the light heavyweight champ? I mean, I know many of them were crap, but damn!
