He showed more heart in the second Golota fight than you're likely to see in most champions. Bowe had great heart.
Agreed 100%:good, Bowe was a coward, he turned down 8 million dollors against Tommy Morrison saying Morrison would be too easy, but we found out later Tommy knock Bowe down twice in sparring and bowe had quit.....
once in a fight as a pro bowe would show heart yes i agree, but he showed little heart in deciding throughout his career to stay away from lewis or perhaps he was even then very fragile mentally
While I don't support him blatantly ducking Lewis, I do support the general premise of throwing those alphabet soup titles in the trash where they belong.
A disgraceful thread. A Glass-Heart does not go toe-to-toe with Evander Holyfield on three separate occasions, and certainly doesn't endure those horrendous beatings against Andrew Golota. Riddick Bowe had a big heart, and I don't think there has been a greater showing of heart than this in the last 20 years. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq359LQVacg[/ame]
Evander was a blown up Cruiser and out weighed by over 20lbs....and who did Golota ever beat anyway? He was an 'american-level' heavy
What the **** is that supposed to mean? Your anti-American babbling is both offensive and unfounded. What is an "American-level" heavyweight? There have been more champions with longer reigns and greater legacies, with just as much heart as anyone that come from America than from your country... I'm not defending Bowe's action in blatantly ducking Lewis, but you and that other chump who called out DelaHoya and Curry, etc. have either never exchanged punches with another man, have no understanding of boxing at all, or are much tougher than all mentioned professional boxers... Which is it?
But I will add to you list Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather, who fit the bill... But what about your Naseem Hamed? He was on top of the world until he was humiliated by Barrera, and lost his heart for fighting completely... It seems your boys have a penchant for being gluttons for punishment... Too brave and proud for their own good. An argument can be made for that, too. In general, though, the brittish can't be accused of having a lack of balls. Maybe a lack of ability, or lack of chin (that's a biggie), and a lack of being able to topple the best Americans, but lack of heart and balls? No way.
He took the worst beating of his life against Golota but showed tremendous heart. He just couldn't give it up to a white boy.
lol @ everyone being obsessed with america. whatever happened to just enjoying a sport for what it is.
