Olymipic Bronze medalist, who seems to have dispatched his previous oppostion with relative ease. Looks one to look out for.

People would never believe the talent that just gets washed away in American prisions. Its not only athletic either. The media never talks about it. The US has the highest prison population in the world.
BTW, I'm not saying Wilder should be brought along quicker. He's a skinny, skinny dude who will need to take time to put on weight. Also, he had a very short amateur career and is still learning. That said, they're definitely taking the slow road with him.
Dude won a bronze medal with less than 30 fights of amateur experience. He's a natural boxer. He's also 6'7 with power in both hands and decent quickness for someone his size. He also has a solid work ethic by most reports. There are a ton of unanswered questions, like whether he has a chin, whether he'll be able to put on enough weight to be competitive (he was at 200 as an amateur) and whether he'll be able to improve enough to fight on a world level, but there isn't anyone around who has a better set of raw tools.
Sure, he could turn out like Audley. Audley was a headcase, never was able to build up 12 round stamina and turned out to have a weak beard. Same could be true for ANY prospect still fighting 4 round fights. But the kid obviously has some natural talent. The skills need to be built up though - they're not there yet.
because of the reasons you just stated. you cannot say the same thing about pulev or the other guys you mentioned. give it some time. I personally dont have high hopes for the guy because of his lack of coordination. but considering the current heavyweight pool and the fact that he'll be emerging as a legit contender when vitali is long gone and wlad is getting up there in age and definitely considering retirement, he's an american heavyweight to be excited for
I agree, I was just refuting the assertion that he's being brought along just like every other heavyweight. He's not. He's being brought along exceptionally slowly, but that's probably fine. There are a lot of things he needs to work on before he steps up.
As a Boxing fan I know what Iam talking about. Anyway, big one punch power, great handspeed for a big guy, very quick on his feet. His chin is untested so far. His size and reach give him an advantage over almost anyone in the whole division. Not to mention he is a quick learner and a natural at the sport of Boxing as he only started at 19 and still won a bronze at the Olympics.
