I dont know how James Toney is not the champions anymore, but on IBA website, is says that the title is vacant.
There is also a picture on Starboxings (Joe Hanks promotion) website of him holding the IBA title.

Yes, its odd to see the currently desperate Toney vacating any title, even a dollar store one like this.

    Good for him.

Who was he fighting for this belt? (that tbh I've never heard of but there is that many in boxing nowdays it's hard to keep up with).

How did he win? K.O., points or the fella he was fighting forget his bindle and not make it to the fight so he won the vacant IBA belt by default.

    Let us know please. Cheers.

Yeah buddy, thats him :good Yeah it is not for fun that his nickname is "The Future" :bbb

Of course, good someone is showing interest. He fought Alfredo Escalera Jr.
He won by UD (120-108 on all judges scorecards) :good

Was at the fight. Hanks dominated and showed speed and power. Escalera took a tremendous beating, but showed a lot of heart. Escalera takes a better shot at 225lbs than he did at 200, because he took some huge punches in the fight that would have knocked most guys out. Exciting to have a new American Heavyweight on the scene. Joe Hanks looked like he could box Klitschko in the next 12 months. Looked promising.

I'm sorry man, but as I noted above, Hanks don't punch his weight.

I think its a technique thing. I believe he is another guy who is late to boxing. I hope he gets it together- he's only 28, has the size and fitness, and has beaten a couple of other decent prospects. But from what I saw on Youtube, he has a lot to learn.

    Thats a while ago.
You can really use taht to anything. You gotta listen how he fought tonight, and not how he fought 2-3 years ago.

Well, how did he fight? People are saying that his opponent took punches that would have stopped other fighters, but lets be real, his opponent was a guy hand picked to be knocked out- a former cruiser with three losses. Seems like a validation of what I saw. Seems to me like the truth is probably that Hanks still has a long way to go.

I want to make clear- I like the man. Thats why I was watching him on Youtube. It just seems to me he is more of an athelete who is boxing than a real boxer. Can that change? Absolutely. 28 ain't old for a fighter at all these days.

And hey, if you saw the fight (I didn't), you tell me?

You are the Polish delight- who would he do agaisnt Spzilka? Wach? Warzyck?
