American HW Joe Hanks now 17-0, the new IBA HW Champion

another hype job

 

If you watch other fights, Escalera beasically ran out of gas. He said prior to this fight that it was draining making the 200lb limit and that he had been sparring with Vitaly Klitschko over the past year. It should because the 225lb looked good on Escalera and he never ran out of gas like against Kayode--Escalera was MUCH MORE durable at heavyweight than his previous loses.

Hanks was punching real good. I saw those old youtube videos as too, and he looked nothing like tonight. Hanks was real fast and took some flush shots without blinking. Hanks jab was real stiff and sharp. Check left hooks were keeping Escalera off balance and hurting him. And he kept a fast pace all 10 rounds. Telling you, he looked real good. Still too green for a Klitschko maybe, but such big improvements over the youtube tapes from a couple years ago. Off of what I saw tonight, I think he would frustrate and out-point a Adamek, which says a lot. Vitaly too big and too much experience for Hanks, but Hanks speed would give Wladimir some problems I think because he would get to Wlad's chin--and when you reach Wlad's chin, you never know what can result.

 

Well everyone has to start somewhere. Good luck to the fella. Let's face it the HW is bad and needs someone...anyone decent to sort it out. Maybe he's the fella....maybe he's not. Time will tell. AS for being a hype job. How lol As Polish said...no one has heard of him.

I'll keep his name in my head and listen out for him.

 

Don't like this at all. He should of have KO'd Escalera like Lateef Kayode did.
