We've seen loads over the years here in Europe, who do you think was the worst? Lacy was my favourite hype-job, the ''next Mike-Tyson'', he ''couldnt be beat'' he's is just ''to powerful''.
Dont be daft - nobody ever rated Lacy (if you believe this board) !!!!!!!!! He came over with no reputation, was never going to beat Joe and was always known as one-dimensional !!!
Lacy was probably the classic example - to be fair Jeff was doing all he could blowing people away. I suppose once the gravy train gets rolling it is very difficult for it to slow down, until the crushendo!
http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=365605&cat=boxer Eric ''THE HAYE CRUSHER'' Fields (as named by capfunds) Ends up getting beaten by a british journeyman a few months back :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl CLASSIC HYPE
Joe Mesi was touted as the next big thing, until Vassily Jirov turned his brain into Swiss cheese. As much as I criticised Mesi at the time, I think he had much more potential and a lot more dedication than Peter or Brock have shown. He had a real warrior mentality that is rare amongst American hype-jobs.
I hate these pointless hate filled threads....I guess I'm just emotional today but these ego trip threads are like painful pimples developed in between ass cheeks.
Fair enough. I am not saying America has not got a few very good fighters above welter and some great prospects but some of the things flying around about those guys on ESB and in the media has been mad. America is definetly looking for the next great black hope. I they find it.
We do love the KO's. Not so sure about how dude worded it up there, but what I think he means is we're always looking for the next Mike Tyson.
