The American haters don't even realize that with threads like this they are doing a wonderful job at undermining their own fighter's accomplishments. If Lacy was an overhyped bum then Calzaghe's beating him was meaningless. Keep talking haters.
Ever occured to you that some people are just having a bit of fun stating the opposite of a certain thread not too far from this one.....
hmm...true lacy had only 21 fights and can't box for **** compared to calzaghe who was 10 years as a champ and had over 40+ fights by that time:good
Well you can't blame them since they're still newcomer champs, how about guys like woods and hatton? And since when was europe the home of boxing? At the top 10 p4p list only calzaghe is european
After watching the Douglas/Tyson fight several times now I am convinced that version of Buster Douglas beats most heavies H2H all time. His footwork, jab and ability to use and throw from all sorts of angles was just awsome. He also showed a sturdy chin, Buster was a one hit wonder but that one hit was damn impressive.
Its been the home of boxing since we invented it, with a breif period where the it went to the USA on holiday, but came back home when the American's realised they were no good at it, stopped watching and stopped producing anything close to a decent fighter above middleweight. I reckon it must be down to the diet you know, if you fed em more they'd grow bigger and be able to challenge the Euros in the divisions that matter.
I do agree with europe inventing boxing. Most of the greatest fighters were american. The greatest all time HW, LHW, and MW are americans, so i kinda disagree with america not producing a decent fighter above MW. But i do agree currently that above MW, europeans are the better fighters.
