According to Joe tessitore, John brown has fought a who's who of almost everybody. Joe asked him, out of the bunch: was there anyone who was not the real deal? He replied Shane Mosley. Why would he say this about sugar Shane? It defies logic and boggles the mind!
Also DeMarcus corley said "Cotto is not on the same level as Floyd and Zab." Is this just bitter talk because he knocked him out? Or is Cotto indeed a chump? Again it defies logic and boggles the mind.
Does anybody know of a gatekeeper heavyweight who can brag that he fought a who's who of the hw division? If so, what we're his findings,/ inclinations? Name one if you got one...
it's interesting because Shane was the first to stop him. But good grief...he litterally fought EVERYONE
I think mosley- Cotto was an inevitable showdown of sorts. Two boxer punchers, equal in every area. The fight did not disappoint. Nowadays I would love to hear a soundbite from either Cotto or Mosley from that clash, if not a rematch in retrospect! It was that damn close lol.
Not being on the level of floyd doesnt make cotto a chump Also corley was closer to his prime vs floyd and zab He also went 12 rounds with each and got a better grasp of their styles Also the corley cotto fight was a bit of a premature stoppage so there could be sour grapes Considering floyd beat cotto corley would be right to say floyds on a higher level
Do you guys remember when Floyd rushed the announcers after his win over Cotto? Nobody put him in his place. They went along with his nice guy shtick. What they really needed was a "teddy atlas" who let's just say is not in this business to make new friends! - to ask Floyd "so when are you gonna fight Manny?" I remember lamps had his nut hugger face on and steward , Lord rest his soul, had a grin on his face. Both guys were not ready for Floyd to bumrush them. He caught them off guard, in other words.
