I have no problem with MMA, I just don't like the UFC. I think they hype up ****-poor fighter, ***** them out on television in order to generate a following, and pin them against other ****-poor fighters and charge an assload for the PPV.

There is a reason why Fedor joined Strikeforce. He knows the UFC is the Wal-Mart of MMA.

Although "Boxing" is only floundering in the US, it's really doing well all over the rest of the world....

...but as long as "Boxing" remains a sport with no central organization it will eventually crumble as a whole.
    Baseball - MLB
    Basketball - NBA
    Football - NFL
    Soccer - Euro-Leage + World Cup
    Hockey - NHL
    Golf - PGA
    Tennis - ATP

Boxing - RING, WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, IBO, IBA, Goosen/Tutor, Sourland, Top Rank, Golden Boy, K2, etc...

MMA is going down the same road too - UFC, Cage Force, Cage Rage, Elite XC, K-1, MMAWFC, PRIDE, Strikeforce, etc... they're all just promoters looking for their own slice of the pie.

The only fighter i watch in MMA is Fedor. If you want action, watch his fight with fujita. The guys an animal. Youve got to understand that when your in a MMA fight you have to prepare for every eventuality therefore you cant have a boxing stance. I think MMA will get better as the years roll on because at the moment there are very few fighters who have mastery of a number of different combat styles.

If UFC was a boxer, it would be Jeff Lacy.

Jesus ****ing christ! Did we **** all over your precious sport? Was it the members of this forum that seeked you out to tell you how much they think
boxing sucks? Have we sent you emails? Have we posted in the general forum? No.

Why the **** do you even watch what Dana White is saying? Who cares? I don't know what Bob Arum is saying unless I want to. I don't know what GBPs next move is unless I look to find out. You are looking for this negative media, and then you come HERE to complain about it, when no one from these boards is "putting **** on the sport", at the very least not where YOU would see it unless you were actively seeking it out.

Perhaps boxing also doesn't need douchebags who come on to an MMA forum just to whine like a little *****?

I think you got a little hypersensitive when you saw this thread brother. He didnt say it happens specifically on this site. In fact he posted this in an MMA forum on a boxing site, probably looking for some insight.

I watch both sports but I'd much rather watch boxing, I dont go looking for this negative media when it comes to boxing, but it's all over the place. Its on sportscenter, its on mainstream media outlets, Dana white and Rogan take shots at boxing whenever they can.

It was even in that shitty ass teeny bopper MMA movie that came out last year. It does appear that MMA is proactively looking for opportunites to **** on boxing.

Again, this is coming from a fan of both sports.

I dont remember the exact quote. I only watched the movie once a few months ago. The main protagonist in the flick starts some **** with the hero. Hero wants to fight, throws the knuckles and the bad guy says some **** along the lines of "that old school boxing **** dont work." That might not be the exact wording but its similar.

The movie is called Never Back Down. Shitty flick.

I dont know if you caught this but Yahoo has changed the name of it MMA section to just UFC. They (the staff writers) have very little to say good about boxing as a whole and seem to have nothing but praises for the UFC , its fighters and management(Dana White). I dont want to sound conspiratorial but the whole tenor of the publication is without a doubt SUSPECT. As they say , If it smells like a rat.
