to brit fighters such as Naz, Hatton, Calzaghe ? Basically British world champs of my generation ( im 31 btw )

I always liked Lewis, even when he fought Bruno and everyone I knew wanted Bruno to win, Iwas rooting for Lewis as I felt he had more talent to go further than Bruno ever would, and whatever his doubters say, Lewis never ducked anyone, we just wont ever know how good he was cause in hispeak there wasnt really any other great HWs around in their peak , maybe Holyfield, but I think he has acheived more than hatton and calzaghe for sure

    opinions?

Lennox is like wvlad on the cream and clear. Big guy. Speed. Power. Skills. But lennox had the killer instict. Every boxing fan I know around my age thinks of lennox as the last great heavy weight. Americans have to respect him after destroyed every American he fought. Top ten atg heavy.

Lewis is more respected than Hamed, Calzaghe, and Hatton simply because he was a superior fighter who fought and beat way better opposition than them.

The Americans woke up to Lennox after Holyfield, and especially after Tyson. I thought it was the Brits who never appreciated him in his prime?

You got to watch out for those brits trying to claim Lewis. They constantly need reminding what country won heavyweight gold in 1988. It wasnt England.

Well he was born in England and only went to Canada when he was 12 so I think it's a more than worthy claim.

And returned to England the second he had enough money to.

He's English, he flew the Union Jack, live with it!

Where did he live after Canada? Where does he live now? That's right, Miami Beach.

Lennox got Americans' attention & respect with his destruction of Ruddock but, lost it getting ko'd by McCall (an American)...The McCall rematch did not help Lewis' reputation because McCall had recently been beaten by Bruno and was obviously in no mental condition to fight, had his hands at his sides and Lewis still couldn't or wouldn't knock him out...

Against Ray Mercer, Lewis showed his warrior heart in a fight many, myself included, thought Mercer won...

Lewis had the heart of a lion but fought way too cautiously at times, see way past his prime Holyfield or even Tua (I was at that fight)...Old, fat, untrained Tyson opened no ones eyes on Lewis...Hasim Rahman killed some of the respect Lewis had gained over the years...

He sometimes had the 'killer instinct' is more acurate...He didn't seem to have it with most punchers, although he did go after some big time and did not 'duck' them either...His chin was suspect but he was a warrior....Great Canadian fighter...
