I think this fight will be the biggest ever in Brazil´s history of MMA in terms of people watching.....because Anderson is very famous now and everyone hates Sonnen
But I have no idea how it would be in USA... the place where the fight will be in.....in terms of popularity I mean.

So I´m curious to know if there is a hype in this fight.....or not.

Oh, and americans are supporting Anderson ?

PS- People from other places, feel free to say about the fight in your country too....
I just asked for the americans in the thread title because Sonnen is american and the fight will be there..so....

    :D
I´m not sure yet, but I believe so........the biggest Channel in Brazil is Globo...and they showed Cigano last two fights and Aldo vs Mendez.....Probably they will show this one as well.....

But even people like my grandma is talking about the fight :lol:
    :rofl:rofl

****ing great !! But the TV made a good marketing showing Sonnen talking **** in mainstream hours and etc.....

Btw, you guys don´t consider the word gringo offensive, right ? I heard some controversy about it, just worried, because it means foreign person only....

Fair bit of hype in Aus. Nothing on mainstream media, but there never is anyway. Most people who only have a passing interest in the sport are getting pretty fired up about this though.

not a lot of hype here at all.

I cant recall seing more than one advert on the even.

Like Primate said, for those who know the sport this is a big deal, not too many of them round these parts though.

White people don't get offended or outraged if you come up with a nickname to refer to us by. Pale skin is thicker than that.

"Gringo" - I can't imagine a situation where I would be offended by being called that. Nor would I anticipate any of my friends to even think about taking offense to a Brazilian using the term towards them, unless it was surrounded by a whole lot of unfriendly words, tones and gestures. :good

To answer the question, here in New Zealand I have seen two mini-segments about it on "The Crowd Goes Wild", which is a popular comedic sports talk/highlights TV show.

I have a mate from Brazil (Curitiba, actually) who lives here now. He calls me gringo, I call him a filthy Mexican ****. It's a thing we have.

Its pretty big but I dont recall seeing too much hype for this fight. If you go look at Lesnar-Mir II, Couture-Lesnar, Liddell-Ortiz II, Jones-Evans, GSP-Penn II etc all these fights had hype out the ass loads.
