American Posters. How Big Anderson vs Sonnen II will be in USA ?

Dont think it will do well....many who don't follow MMA don't have a clue who they are. I for one might miss it...but will watch the replay. How Fail Roid gets his ass beat...think he is a clown. Ask why he hung up on the phone interview the other day. Oh that is right.. The guy wasn't kissing his ass so he did was a big mouth like him dose....

How big is MMA down under does anyone know I'm moving out there for a year in a couple days is it easily available at bars etc?

Is Anderson not popular among the MMA hardcore in Brazil??

Its funny that people think it wont do well. most people here, even casual fans I speak to here and there are pretty aware of who Anderson Silva is. Most people want to see Sonnen's face get smashed anyway, thats worth a watch. Hopefully Silva has vicious blood left in him to put a vintage performance on.

 

Why is he so hated? Brazilians strike me as very patriotic

 

That photo actually makes me feel bad for him. The guy listened to all that **** talking, and was still gracious and respectful after making Sonnen tap. Now he is being forced to grant the guy another pay day.

With all the **** people talk about Silva, you would have expected a response more like this.

Cheers for the insight Vic I'd always assumed Anderson was a hero in Brazil.

 

I tend to not like watching people get maimed, but this is one of those times where I would like to see Chael get punished, some structural re-arrangement to his face if ya know what I mean.

Has to do with the WWE fanboy brand attention he brings to the sport that I have already discussed too much. I like MMA for what it is already, no filler needed.

 

Hey Vic...I'm American and the hype is getting bigger as the fight approaches...but then again, as a fan, I'm looking for the hype. I'll be pulling for Anderson. Reason being, I've always liked the style and the talent. Favorite fighter also Brazilian, Wanderlai Silva...and always rooted for the Gracies. Guess you can say that I respect the roots of MMA. :good
Looking for a good match July 7th...Sonnen did everything except win...but feel Silva will be better prepared and much harder to take down this time. I think Silva will win by rear naked choke in round three after doing much better work standing this time (knees)...

 

Yeah, Australia. There's basically no coverage of MMA in the mainstream media here, but it's reasonably well known as a sport, even if it is among the tapout wearing **** heads that think they train UFC.

The UFC is always shown at a bunch of pubs and sports bars.

Were abouts are you moving to?

 

No coverage in the mainstream is fine I'm used to it but as long as I can find it at a bar/pub then I'll be happy. At least the events are at a much more reasonable time I'm sick of staying up till 5am watching the American cards.

I'm moving to Newcastle can't really explain why newie but I'm studying at the uni there because I want to delay real life and my family are mostly from down under and have wanted to live out there for a while now. Any advice I made a thread before in the general but it got mostly ignored.

 

Anderson Silva is more popular than every young, up and coming boxer with the exception of Tim Bradley.

The fight will be huge, almost every sports bar in town will be showing, and many will get out just to watch the fight live.

 

Many casual fans are quite familiar with Anderson Silva, and they know enough to give each other a little info on the build up leading into the fight.

When Anderson Silva fights, it's much bigger than say a Chavez or Canelo PPV.. UFC cards occur quite often, and they get much more play than Boxing PPV.. Even in a place like El Paso.
