Americans: How far would you/have you travelled to see a fight

Don't mis-read it. I'm not talking about crime rates, although I can see why you would assume I'm talking about that coming from the good ol' gun totin' US of A.

Anyway, I'm merely referring to the mis-conception that anyone inside of the USA don't ever go outside of the USA. Or maybe it's true? You just don't see many Yanks around the rest of the world compared to folk from many smaller nations is all I'm sayin' Buck. Considerin' ya'll size n' all.

I did put a at the end to try and get across that I was only jestin with you.

 

I went from Denver to Las Vegas to see DLH vs Mosley II

 

What happened to this "Vegas is neutral to fighters of both countries" idea when Hatton fought PBF or Calzaghe fought Hopkins? **** the neutrality issue, its bull**** and a total smokescreen. Vegas gets the fights because of the money, lets not dress it up as something its not, eh?

BTW last time in Vegas I went via Liverpool-Amsterdam-Chicago-Denver-Vegas. Beat that!!!

 

I'd like to go to the States one day and watch a heavyweight title fight. I live in Cardiff so I was always able to go to the Millenium Stadium.

 

No i'm not rich as i spent all my money both times and have also gone to Russia last year with Kostya Tszyu as he invited myself and my friend over there. We have becomes friends over the last four years I have some great memories so it was worth it

I've attended fights in Vegas when I lived there and only because I lived there. I love to see a fight live. I love the energy in the atmosphere n' all, but I cannot begin to express how ****in' pissed I'd be if I traveled abroad, or even across a few states to see a fight that ended within a couple of rounds.

Other than boxing, cricket is my favourite sport and watching it has taken me to Australia twice,New Zealand twice,Pakistan,Jamaica,Trinidad,Sri Lanka, South Africa and India. Admittedly a cricket match lasts much longer(up to five days) than a fight. I tend to go to two matches and make a holiday of it.
The problem as I see it with travelling long distances to watch boxing is that after you've booked time off work,booked and paid for flights and hotels,visas etc is that the fight gets called off due to injury,illness,not making weight etc etc

 

I was planning on going to Montreal last year to see Bute fight Andrade or to see the Caballero/Molitor fight... Luck wasn't on my side... But Canada is as far as I'll go... One day Germany, but i'm not going no further than Canada... Then again, I'd go to Montreal before I'd go to Vegas or LA so that doesn't say much....
