Started slow and ended weak . . . solid fighter but did not take advantage of a hurt aging champ. I do not understand why he did not try and press the action more . . . Serg was ripe for the picking and he missed his chance. Not very bright corner tbh. he had his chance 2x, this time it was close but no robbery (I thought serg won)
Anyone that beats up Martinez is okay in my book:good Glad to see it done. Too bad he did not get what he deserved.
The man was a statue for 7 rounds with a high guard engaging the champion in a chess match. fought on even terms for 10 rds then went back into statue mode and was outworked by a one armed 38 yr old champion coming off an injury, had he been a statue for only five and fought to win going down the stretch he might have pulled it off. had Murray opened uP early he probably gets KTFO also these are one in a million chances cant let them slip by.
I rank him 3 or 4 at MW. He shows ring smarts but no gas pedal. He shows good pressure but never overwhelms. He lands crisp but not all too damaging. He shows grit yet potential stamina issues. He's a striking combination of great and underwhelming.
he showed some potential, and he did against sturm too ... but far from spectacular. i want to see him against golovkin or geale
Solid fighter. Doesn't excel at any one thing, but has good fundamentals, technique, and remains in a tight guard with sound defensive awareness. Makes for a good contender who can give anybody issues on any given night, but more often than not, will fall short.
Thanks for all the rational, fairly assessed comments by the decent Americans on here who did so. The ones who just talked ****...die in a shopping mall massacre or something you backward, ignorant fat ****s. :hi:
Good fighter, always was. Would like to see him in there again with another top 10 guy soon, the MW division is looking nice.
Unbelievably ignorant and moronic comment. It's not about mileage it's about culture; those that make a point of travelling to immerse themselves in other cultures are urbane, whether that's 200 miles or 2000 miles.
If he opened up just a little more and isn't so "Euro" in his style. it's going to get him outworked almost every time or hurt more against the harder hitters that are as selective as he but hit harder (Golo, for instance)
