should never watch a fight again. As an American, I had Vasyl winning 9-3 which is at best for Gary. He didn't land one shot of really consequence. I've actually seen some people who felt it should have been a draw. Russell was COMPLETELY outclassed.
Loma beat him in every exchange.....countering perfectly and using insane lateral movement . Only flaw I saw was his constant resetting which let Russell take his gaurd down and throw flurries. I couldn't give Russell 3 rds myself.....he could have been KOD in any rd if Loma woukda just put the pressure on til he folded
i thought it was a pretty clear win for loma, and i dont know about "ever", but i do think this is the weakest heavyweight era since i started following the sport in the mid to late 70s.
i had it even...just like the one judge. a lot really depends on how you call the first 5 rounds...i had it 3-2 for russell after 5.
Im american, im black. from round 1, it was obvious that loma was the superior fighter and it was going to be a tough night for grj...but from a pure scoring perspective....in the middle rounds, loma back peddled way too much and was content to throw only 1 punch. In these rounds, you can EASILY score them for GRJ bc he was coming forward throwing punches vs lomas inactivity. Thats wat made the fight close. As it was close on my cards, it was still a CLEAR win for loma.
