Americans, why aren't you in an uproar over the referee tonight?

Know what you're trying there, is not going to work.

How do you figure? I'll go on record as saying that no one would be complaining if Froch was the overwhelming favorite. Khan was the overwhelming favorite vs. Peterson and I didn't see many people complaining about the fight being in Peterson's hometown, with two American judges, and an American ref who was from the area. The reason for that is because Khan was a big favorite. Let me ask you another question, do you think it was resonable for Haye to ask for a different ref in his fight with Wlad? Haye's remarked that the ref had worked several of Wlad's past fights, and was friendly with him. Who are you more likely to be biased towards, someone that you're familiar and friendly with, or someone you don't know but happens to be from the same country as you? Keep in mind that America is a huge, very diverse country. And for the record, I don't think that ref from the Wlad/Haye fight should've been replaced.

If both sides agree, there is always neutral officials. If it was written into the contract, the commission should have been made to ensure that there was a neutral referee.

After the disgraceful Hatton/Mayweather fight, fans rightly did complain about Cortez being given another 'Briton vs. American' fight, despite Calzaghe being the favourite.

    So, yeah, you're wrong.

Froch being the underdog has nothing to do with this. The reason people are suspicious is because of the officiating last week.

At the last pre-fight press conference Froch's team made is CRYSTAL CLEAR that they are 100% satisfied and comfortable with the ref choice.

I have no problem with smoger but Cooper was an attention seeking ***** who obviously was biased towards Peterson, since when do you penalize a fighter for pushing to create space or to break a clinch? yet a lot of americans were whining when dirrell was docked points for constantly holding and blast hatton for doing it . . . . then Hopkins does it against Calzaghe and its totally fine again!

Complete double standard dude, im happy Khan lost because he a jackass but in my eyes he still won the fight.

Back on topic i feel the canadian judge is going to screw froch if it goes the distance, the ref does a good job however ( at least against neutral fighters, there may still be some controversey )

The complaint in that fight had nothing to do with the nationality of the ref, and everything to do with his past and the fact that Brits couldn't get over the fact that Ricky got embarressed, taken apart, and eventually knocked out. So yeah, you're wrong.

In all honesty, there's not other point to be made. Both camps have no issue with the ref, so there's nothing to complain about.

I don't think the outcome of Mayweather - Hatton would've been any different, but its pretty much an obvious fact that Cortez ****ed Ricky over in that one fight, on top off being in with a superior boxer, he also had the struggles of a biased piece of **** referee.

Because we know the most qualified British ref, he's a fat guy who runs in waving his arms after 3 unanswered punches are thrown.

If by ****ing Ricky over you mean that he didn't allow him the to cheat, then I agree with you. Outside of the first couple of rounds, Cortez did a good job in that fight.

No, your assumption that was because Froch was the underdog, that was why people were mentioning the referee early. Presumably because you think they're creating an excuse.

However, after Cortez ruined Hatton/Mayweather, the fans were criticizing the choice of the referee despite Calzaghe being the favourite against Hopkins. They were right to as well because we all know that Cortez allowed Hopkins' spoiling tactics and not Hatton's.

My point is, you said that fans are only because Froch is the underdog. That's not the case. The reason fans are moaning is because last week in America, a lot of fans think an American referee favoured an American fighter.

What annoys me is that Cortez wasn't consistent. If he stopped Hatton's tactics, fine, but how do you not do the same to Hopkins? He favoured the American in both fights and only penalised one dirty fighter, the Brit.

I would agree with you if weren't for the fact that you constantly see Euro posters bitching and whining about refs and judges whenver a fighter from there is about to fight an American he's expected to lose to.
