where would Manny Pac be today without American boxing? think about it.

in the end i'm happy this fight is on neutral ground. End of story.

that would make sense , but how much do you think it costs ricky hatton fans to travel and stay in america before they even buy a ticket.

it's all the alphabet bodies that are cheapning boxing, not anything in america.

america is the centre of many of the world's sports, but the difference is if you're good enough to get drafted into the big time in any other sport you can get signed up, make a mill, and play against the best of your peers.

in boxing you can hide behind a belt or undefeated record and the general public usually doesn't know any difference because the term 'undefeated' and 'world champion' are generally without question in other sports.

what you're really saying is that europeans are getting the short end of the stick because "america doesn't give a ****", but at the end of the day if a fighter is talented enough and WANTS to crack the world market then he'll have to leave the safety of domestic fame and make a move internationally.

in one way that favours american fighters, but dont forget there's a much larger pool of talent in the americas vying for that lucrative fight.

instrad of making excuses for talented euro fighters why don't you ask why they don't make the jump once they establish themselves domestically?

ricky hatton made his name by beating tszyu, had the sense to fire warren, and after a handful of wins in the US got his dream fight against floyd to find out how good he really was.

Im not too bothered about the location, but lets all face it its the promoters and TV networks that dictate when, where and what time the fights are on.

good point rightcross, you have got to question how much the boxers care about the fans in all this as well.

i'm a fan of hatton and he does claim to care about his supporters a lot but it seems he cares about his own bank balance a lot more.

ok, the vegas casino's must pay shitloads to host this fight but lets not pretend the fighters wouldn't earn **** loads from fighting at wembley (though still obviously less). 90'000 tickets at wembley at an average of £100 is £9m or $15m even before you take into account PPV numbers etc.

even the weigh in england could probably attract 20'000 at £10 each (yes we are that ****in daft :nut).

anyone got any idea how much a casino would pay to host this type of fight?

also the summer weather here isn't that bad :D

true, but every fighter (and his promoter) has the power to be a part of that world if the fighter is good enough and if they are willing to make the jump on the international stage.

Probably quite a bit, but I imagine most of them turn it into a holiday. I doubt too many of them would pay gobs of cash just to sit closer, especially when all the fun crazy fans are way back in the stadium anyway. As long as they could get tickets, they wouldn't buy the expensive seats.

I have no problem with this fight being in the State's but they should put it in a stadium.
How about Dodger Stadium in LA, I hear there's a sizeable Philipino population there and it wouldn't matter to Hatton fan's, because they will travel in their thousands to watch Ricky wherever he fights.
