Eddie Chambers is very skilled with extremely fast hands. He picks off punches very well. His right cross would bust through Haye's papermache defense. He has a solid jab and his left hook to the body is excellent. Chambers counters well and throws crisp, sharp punches.

Chambers would make Haye pay for his wild flurries (like in the Barrett fight) then pressure when Haye retreats.

The only question would be Chamber's punch resistance. Povetkin isn't a big puncher but Eddie stood up to his best for 12 rounds and didn't get hurt.

Haye has stamina conerns as a HW too unlike Povetkin who can pressure and punch all night long.

If I was betting man, I reckon Eddie would take Haye to school :yep

    :patriot

Chambers has some serious skills...See for yourself.

Chambers was boxing beautifully against Povetkin the first four rounds or so but he has SERIOUS workrate issues. Maybe it's mental but the guy teases you for a while and then just puts it in the tank.

Haye/Chambers would be fun to watch.

I agree with alot of what you said but I think that Hayes punches would fine Eddies chin and knock him out..like klion22 said Eddie had workrate issues which even if it went 12 would hurt him but if he could keep the workrate up he could pull out a SD my question is does Eddie have enough power to keep Haye off i know Hayes chin is shaky but i really think Eddie hits about as hard as a Cruiser and Haye did well there

this is true but imo it was Povetkin's workrate and pressure more than Chamber's poor workrate that cost him that fight. Chambers certainly needs to take it up another level with regards to stamina/output but against Calvin Brock, he looked solid late in the fight. Haye's workrate and style are far more similar to Brock than Povetkin. Haye is a natural counter-puncher and doesn't pressure all that much. I see the fight taking place in the center of the ring where I feel Eddie is the more skilled of the 2.

Chambers is not heavy-handed but he throws punches straight, quickly and sharply. He blinded Calvin Brock. Povetkin has a solid chin. If those right hands hit Haye, he will be in trouble. He stunned Povetkin on at least 2 occassions. Again, stamina imo won't be concern in this fight cause Haye doesn't pressure or utilize a high-volume attack.

And Chambers showed good durability against Povetkin who unloaded near 1000 punches. But, yes, Haye is a bigger puncher than Povetkin so we don't know if he can stand up to the early bombs. Although, Chambers is very good at picking off punches and using subtle foot movements.

They picked Barrett for a reason...Booth ain't no fool. It's a shame Chambers is gonna lose to my boy Sam in March though....

while I think chambers speed would be a problem for Haye, not sure about his power and I think Chambers would be in for a long night with his lean back peak a boo defence. He would have to move or Haye will go off if Chambers is stationary

If that first right hand landed on Haye, Haye would've went down.

Chambers quite in the Povetkin fight. Povetkin went out on his shield. Chambers looked like he didnt even wanna be there.

I think Haye would KO Chambers by round 8. Chambers would give Haye trouble in the first few rounds maybe even win a couple but I dont think he would really hurt Haye. After a while Haye starts finding the range and starts landing serious blows, and with his height and reach advantage he controls the pace and most of the action.

It really makes you wonder. He was dominating the action at times and he just turned it off. It's hard to tell WHY he did so. Was he gased? Did he feel Povetkin's power? Or does he just have mental issues? I think it's the last one. I don't think he has the proper mental make up. He lacks the desire to be great IMO. Just look at his body. He comes in with excess every fight.

Like I keep saying,,, ANY good HW has a great shot at beating Haye.

He knows it as well as anybody. That's why he wants to go for the gold straight away.

If he took the conventional route of fighting a few top guys before challenging for the title he may never get the chance.

One hard shot like that 1st right hand by Chambers and Haye goes down in a heap.
    The dream is over.

During the fight i was hoping he had some dog in him. But when I heard that he came from a loving family, served no jail time, graduated high school? I was like awww ****. This dudes gonna be soft as butter.

My most vivid memory of that fight is Povetkin basically laid out in his corner, like he was giving his life out there. Chambers was just in his corner with a blank look on his face like he wasnt even in the fight.

Well, we'll see if Chambers survives Peter and go from there... but I'm under the impression that Chambers may not have what it takes... :smoke

Last time I heard that phrase was Brewster saying Wlad "didn't have dog in him" cause he didn't grow up poor, etc..... Wlad then proceeded to beat the **** out of Brewster for 6 rounds with his jab til Lamon quit on the stool.

It was a bad style matchup for Eddie. I think guys who fight at a slower pace and box more will favor him. Like I said before, he looked good at the end of the Brock fight.

Haye is a good matchup for Eddie. Slow-paced and both are natural counter-punchers.
